I ran yesterday.  I ran, but I waited until the mercury climbed from two degrees to a balmy fifteen.  During my run I actually daydreamed about the beach…  I never do that.  You see, I’m happy in the moment.  I like that we have four distinct seasons in Virginia, and I embrace them all.  Come March I will start grumbling about the boring brown grass and bare tree branches, but right now, I like them because at any moment they could become snow covered.

In additional to loving all four seasons, I’m also intrigued by the weather they bring.  Yes, I just admitted that I’m a weather nerd.   The first thing I do every morning is check my WeatherBug app on my phone so I know how to dress for my run.  I hang on every word of the news reporter standing by the seawall in a hurricane telling us that it’s windy and raining sideways.  I watch with glee as the overly excited reporter sticks a yard stick in the snow to show us how much snow they have outside the newsroom.  And I even laugh when they drop an egg on the asphalt in the city on the hottest day in ten years.

To celebrate today’s extreme cold weather and my brief thoughts of being somewhere warmer, I made a few fitness posters using this past summer’s photos.  Enjoy!
