Welcome to Wednesday Word, a monthly linkup for everyone, not just health and fitness bloggers. On the first Wednesday of every month you will have a single word prompt to write about. Let your imagination run free and share with your readers your interpretation of that word, or simply use it as inspiration for your post. Today’s word is beauty… I’d love to have you link up, and if you do, please remember to follow my six simple rules.

Beauty
The quality or aggregate of qualities in a person or thing
that gives pleasure to the senses
or pleasurably exalts the mind or spirit

~ Merriam-Webster

For people reading my running blog, I seriously doubt they would have trouble finding beauty in running. For the average person, though, the image they’re going to conjure up is one of pain, sweat, and one foot slapping the ground in front of the other…

My runner friends; however, will think of running experiences. Like me, they will think of beautiful experiences they’ve enjoyed while on a run. I found beauty in running when…

I’ve watched a beautiful sunrise while finishing up an early morning run…

I’ve cheered on a friend as she leads her son across the finished line of his very first 5K…

I’ve watched the running community come together after the tragic loss of one of our own…

I’ve found friends I would have never met without joining a new running group…

I’ve witnessed someone who was never a runner, find joy in her new-found sport…

I’ve chosen to run at night to take in the sights of the holiday season…

I experience the beauty of untouched snow which feels like clouds under my feet…

Where have you seen beauty in running?
