LYFT Clean Caffeine Energy Stir Stick Review

As a Sweat Pink Ambassador and member of Fit Approach, I was given the opportunity to try LYFT Clean Caffeine Energy Stir Sticks at no charge, in exchange for writing a review of their product.  Even though I was given the product for free, all opinions are 100% my own.

On Friday afternoon two stir sticks arrived in a little package.  The packaging says that the 125 mg of caffeine is derived from green coffee bean extract.  A serving size is one stick, which contains no calories and supposedly has a clean taste; however, after a few sips it had a slightly different taste that I didn’t want in my water.  It was so subtle that I’m sure it wouldn’t be noticeable in juice or another flavored drink, but I like my water to taste like water.

A Starbucks 12-ounce brewed coffee has 260 mg of caffeine, but since I’m not a coffee drinker, I decided to compare the 125 mg caffeine stick to other caffeinated drinks that might cross my lips:

12-ounce Diet Dr. Pepper – 42 mg caffeine
1-tube Zipfizz – 100 mg caffeine
12-ounce Starbucks hot chocolate – 20 mg caffeine

The process is easy; simply remove the label from the stick and stir into your preferred beverage…

Here’s what the stick looked like after I stirred out the powder that was packed in the tiny holes…

While I like the concept of adding caffeine to other drinks if you’re not a coffee drinker and would like a little boost first thing in the morning, this product isn’t for me.  On the two days I tried Pure LYFT, I felt completely normal, and as if I’d had any other caffeinated drink.  I didn’t get a headache from having too much or too little caffeine and I had no negative reactions; however, I don’t see myself purchasing the product.

If you’re interested in giving Pure LYFT a try, use code WELCOME to get free shipping.  Prices range from $2.08 to $3.00 each depending on how many you buy.

If you’re interested, you can follow Pure LYFT on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

While we’re talking about caffeine today, just a friendly reminder that when taking in any caffeinated drinks, keep in mind that caffeine is a diuretic and can cause dehydration.  Drink plenty of water to replace those lost fluids.  You’ll feel much better and be glad you did!

  • Questions:
  • Are you a coffee drinker?
  • If so, Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, or another?
  • Do you use caffeinated fuels on your runs?

Thank you sooo much for your honesty! I didn’t even apply for this because I never saw myself using this. I don’t drink coffee but I do have a Crystal Light Energy once (sometimes twice) a day. It’s actually something I’m trying to give up.

I volunteered thinking I would love the product added to my water on the mornings that I wanted a caffeine boost, but when I noticed a slight taste, I wasn’t a fan. I know it’s a lot cheaper than a Starbucks coffee, but since I’m not already paying for a morning coffee, I don’t want to spend the extra money especially since I wasn’t 100% thrilled.

I don’t do caffeine at all. No coffee or soda. I have a green tea occasionally, but forget about using it for messes with my tummy too much!

Good for you! Luckily, caffeine doesn’t seem to bother my tummy too much… at least not as much as desserts and other fatty foods! I guess it’s just another good reason to stay away from them.

I’ve never heard of something like this. I am a coffee drinker, and have finally gotten to where my stomach will tolerate a cup of coffee before my long runs. It used to upset my stomach, so I’d have to wait until after and I’d often get a terrible headache from that. If I hadn’t gotten my coffee issue worked out, I might have looked to a product like this to get my caffeine fix!

You would probably be the perfect candidate since you need the the caffeine before your runs. LYFT Sticks are a genius idea.
