Contrary to almost all of my other race photos, both of my feet are not planted firmly on the ground in this picture from Thursday’s Firecracker 5K; however, I’m looking at my watch just like in all other finish line photos of me.  All races in the =PR= Race Series have photographers out on the course taking pictures, and after the race, Potomac River Running sends out an email with a link to their Flickr account so runners can download their pictures for free!  Talk about a great service!

We had six Cruisers meet this morning (one was a brand new member – woot woo) for our weekly group run.  Beth talked me into running 14 miles with her, Bill ran 16 miles, and the other Cruisers ran ten miles or less.

Our first cool sighting of the day was in the porta-potty…  No, not that!  We found this little froggy guy on the floor.  He was about the size of a water bottle lid and just adorable!

At Beth’s and my turn-around point, we saw two dogs running after their biker mom.  I squatted down just in time to take this blurry picture of this floppy-eared sweetheart!  In dog miles he was doing 4 minute/miles!  🙂

For the second time this week, I need for you to take a moment of silence with me.  Somehow after getting my camera out to take a picture of the little dog, and then stopping at a water fountain to refill my bottles, I didn’t get my camera safely stored back in my pack.  While crossing a street, my camera hit the pavement and I dove for it just as a car was heading toward it.  Forget my head, I needed to save my camera!  Now my poor little Canon Elph matches the back of my iPhone.  Ugh!  Fortunately it still works!

Shortly after breaking my camera screen I took this picture along the W&OD Trail, so here’s proof that it still works.
