There are races, and then there are crazy fun races – today’s Jingle Bell Jog was the latter. I’ll give it the full credit it deserves in a recap on Thursday, but today’s weekly wrap couldn’t go by without mentioning it. Mentioning it, because it was yet another opportunity for me to get some shenanigans on with my crazy running friend Erin.

I’d been signed up for this race for a while, but Erin didn’t decide to run it until a couple of days after our turkey trot. Once we were both in, we immediately went into costume planning mode – subtle and Santa’ish for me and over the top for Erin, ’cause that’s how we roll.

Our costuming style may be very different, but our love for race day shenanigans is right in step with each other. So much so, that for Christmas Erin made me this adorable collage of our many race pictures. This gift brings back so many fun memories of our nearly three years of running together. It’s a gift that I cherish and it might have brought a tear or two to my eyes.

Be sure to pop back over in a few days to check out my Jingle Bell Jog recap. Where else will you be able to see almost a thousand Santa-clad runners heading down the parkway? It was a sight to behold, and with my sweet husband joining us as our official photographer, hardly a Santa was missed. Oh, and just a little spoiler… I might have won 1st place overall masters female!

Here’s how this past week’s workouts went down, but without me wearing a Santa costume…
