One Lucky Reader Will Win…

I have some very exciting news about another giveaway that I am starting today!  One lucky reader will win a free Original SPIbelt (SPIbelt = small personal item belt).

While perusing the Virginia Wine Country Half Marathon Expo, I stopped by the SPIbelt booth and talked to their sales rep, Megan, about their products.  I was intrigued by the compact size of the belt unfilled and how it would expand to meet my carrying needs.  I purchased a belt after Megan showed me all of its great features, and had me run with it with my phone safely tucked inside.

SPIbelt‘s web site describes their Original SPIbelt as having the following features:

  • Will not bounce
  • Expandable, secure, low-profile pocket
  • Comfortable, soft elastic prevents chaffing
  • Sturdy buckle and glides for even the most active users
  • Pocket expands to 6″ x 3″ x 2″
  • Fits waist size 25″ through 50″
  • Proudly made in Austin, Texas

I wear my SPIbelt on almost every single run which means that I’ve already given it almost 100 hours of wear.  I wouldn’t have reached out to SPIbelt to partner with Deb Runs for a giveaway if I hadn’t thoroughly tested and liked their product!

Here’s a close-up of my SPIbelt with my iPhone in it.  It really doesn’t bounce, and I usually forget that I’m wearing it.

Even when I go on long runs and carry my Nathan Hydration Pack, I still wear my SPIbelt to carry my iPhone.  Having it in front makes it so much easier for turning my RunKeeper app on and off.

As you can see, when empty it folds to belt size, then expands to fit my needs.

To enter for a chance to win your very own Original SPIbelt, please use the Rafflecopter app below.  Please be aware that specific colors are not guaranteed in the giveaway.

Always looking for a new belt for long runs and races that is comfortable!

It’s so comfortable that I usually forget that I’m wearing it! The secret is to keep it low and snug on your hips.

  2. September 3, 2013

I would love to win a spi belt! My husband and I share a spi belt we bought at an expo earlier this year. It would be nice for both of us to have our own.

So you already know how sweet they are! Good luck!

I would be incredibly excite to win a SPIbelt! I’m always looking for a comfortable way to carry my phone that keeps it dry and doesn’t bounce.

I was so surprised that it didn’t bounce. The secret is to wear it low on your hips. When I tried it on at the expo, Megan kept telling me to push it lower!

  4. September 3, 2013

I had noticed your SPIbelt popping up in pictures recently! This is a product I have been interested in for awhile, but have never tried out. I would be most interested in using it to carry my phone with me, and I’m glad to see you’ve been able to do so without it bouncing!

You could also use it to carry dog treats for the unleashed dogs that chase you! 😉

I can demo the “no bouncing” at the Hokie Half!

  5. September 3, 2013

How interesting. I’ve seen a lot of people rave about the SPIbelt, but I’ve never seen one or tried one. I do carry my phone with me – I usually hold it in my hand or shove it in the strap of my bra.

      September 3, 2013

I’m positive that carrying your phone in a SPIbelt would be a lot more comfortable than in your bra strap! 😉

  6. September 4, 2013

    Actually, VERY.
I have just been thinking about my upcoming marathon and all of the stuff I want to take with me on my training runs and in the race. It won’t all fit in my water belt! This would be perfect.
I wear my phone in an armband, but sometimes I take that off because it gets uncomfortable!

As you can see from the picture, my SPIbelt works great with my hydration belt!

I would love to try this! I hate having to find shorts/pants/tops with enough pockets in them for all my stuff!

    • Deb Runs Deb Runs
      September 6, 2013

I used to have running shorts with all kinds of pockets across the back of them, but my stuff would bounce out of the pockets sometimes.

  11. September 5, 2013

For running late at night it would be great to have some storage. This would be an ideal belt for me in those situations.

      September 6, 2013

You could carry a tiny flashlight in your SPIbelt!

  12. September 5, 2013

I’ve been looking into belts for a little while now and have looked at the SPIBelt as well. It would be great to win something like that! I wonder if it would fit my iPhone if it was still in my Otter Box Defender case…

    • Deb Runs Deb Runs
      September 5, 2013

It might! I can fit my iPhone and little Canon Power Shot camera both in it at the same time.

  13. September 5, 2013

I am so excited! I don’t have any sort of belt/carrying case yet for my runs and I really need one!

Good luck, and if you don’t win, it’s worth a trip to the running store! 🙂

Oh my gosh this would be awesome to have! I started thinking I couldn’t wear it with my hydration belt, but then I saw your pic of wearing both! I’m so tired of my phone on my arm- the arm band is too big and comes undone all the time!

      September 6, 2013

You need to win this then! If you don’t, add it to your running wish list, STAT!

I love my SpiBelt and would love an extra – I wear it in with the pocket in the back though – you should try it – no bounce.

      September 6, 2013

I do wear it with the pocket in the back sometimes, but always in the front when I’m wearing my hydration belt or need to get to my phone. I love that it doesn’t bounce either way! 🙂

I would be so excited to win a SPIbelt! I love the small profile when it’s not full and I could see myself using it for stuff other than running. Right now I typically don’t carry my phone with me when I run.

I have never used one but have been debating between Spibelt and the Amphipod Microstretch belt. Now that I finally got a Garmin, I would rather put my phone somewhere other than an Armpocket. I also would use it when biking since I never have a place to put everything that my kids or I need on a bike ride. Would love to win!

      September 10, 2013

I’m not familiar with the Amphipod, but I certainly like my SPIbelt!

  28. September 10, 2013

I have a small Spibelt wrist holder that I picked up at the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon in 2012. I needed it to hold extra fuel because the race day temperatures spiked to 80+ degrees. I broke every marathon rule and ran with something new on raceday, but that baby did its job and NEVER chaffed. Now I use it to hold my keys because key pockets on the inside of shorts scare me!

      September 10, 2013

I didn’t notice the wrist holder at the SPIbelt display at the expo. I’ll bet it’s cute! 🙂

Would love to win one. Tired of carrying my cell in my tired belt clip case.

I couldn’t imagine running with a belt clip case. It probably does bounce a lot. Good luck with the contest!
