Changing Things Up

This week I’m trying things a little differently and throwing my weekly rundown back to the way I had it laid out years ago, looking at what I did (workout wise) on each day of the week rather than listing each type of workout and what I got done. Perhaps this way I can slide right on past skipping yoga without anyone noticing. 😬

And Now on to a RunDown of this Past Week’s Workouts…

Sunday

The kids came over for a socially distanced Mother’s Day barbecue on Sunday and may I tell you how badly I wanted to hug them? After lunch we went for a 2-mile walk with Pablo leading the way. Here he is playing in the backyard before our walk.

Monday

Blustery cold weather made me happy that Monday was a lifting day and that I didn’t have plans to go outside. I spent an hour strength training and then another half hour doing my physical therapy homework.

Tuesday

I waited until 10 AM to go out for my walk in hopes of it warming up. It was breezy and 49° when I headed out which is fantastic running weather, but a bit chilly for my liking when walking, even when keeping a brisk pace. Not gonna lie, I was pumped to see that I’d averaged a 14:18 pace on my 4-mile walk.

Wednesday

I go up super early on Wednesday so I could lift and do my PT homework before “seeing” my 7:30 AM client. Bill got up with me and went for a bike ride. Now that it’s getting warmer, perhaps I’ll go out with him a morning or two a week when I don’t have an early client.

Thursday

It was 52° on Thursday at 7:30 AM when I headed out for a 5-mile walk (average pace 14:56). I decided to change up the scenery and take our neighborhood trails to the W&OD Trail. It’s a much prettier walk than doing laps on the half-mile loop on our street, but the trail is narrow and when it’s busy it’s harder to stay at least 6 feet away from other trail users. Being on the earlier side helped, but I still saw quite a few people.

Once on the W&OD Trail, I saw Bill riding toward me. I knew he was out riding, but hadn’t expected to see him so it was a pleasant surprise!

Friday

When Bill left our house at 5 AM to go ride I woke up and tried to go back to sleep, but when I couldn’t I got up. It was great getting my lifting and physical therapy homework completed and out of the way so early in the morning!

I added in some yoga poses to my balance and stretching class that I teach on Facebook Live on Friday mornings. I had my students do tree pose, Warrior 1, Warrior 2, and a modified version of airplane pose so at least I got in a little bit of yoga. 😉

I did some yard work during the afternoon and it felt great to be outside getting some more of my gardening chores checked off of my todo list.

Saturday

We woke up about an hour before our alarm went off so we did some things around the house before heading out in the delightful 72° for a walk. Our intentions were to walk 6 miles, but we messed up our calculations, so we decided to do 10K and messed that up, so 6.5 miles it was! 😂😂😂

I did more yard work after our walk so I was quite exhausted by the time I was done, but being exhausted after working hard is the best feeling in the world.

Overview of the Week

In addition to the workouts I mentioned above, here’s a complete rundown from this past week (completed either outside or in our home gym)…

It’s on the Blog

In case you skipped checking in on my blog this past week, here’s what you missed…

Questions:
  • • What’s your ideal time to workout?
  • • Do you enjoy gardening or yard work? ~ I love it!
  • • Did you run in a virtual race this weekend?

And that’s my rundown… Have a great week!
