We thought we were going to have a pretty good Cruiser turnout this morning, but for various reasons (sick Cruiser, late Cruiser, Cruiser without Yaktrax) Bill and I were the only two that ran.  I’d scheduled our run for later than usual to avoid the windchill warning, and that proved to be a pretty good idea until the last three miles when the wind kicked up again.  The MRTT group that I ran with last week actually ran at 6:30 AM.  Those moms are beasts!

Cruising down the trail in my Yaktrax

Bill and I ran five miles west, then turned around to total ten miles.  The trail conditions were great for a snow lover.  It’s been so cold this week that Tuesday’s snow hasn’t had a chance to thaw and refreeze; so we ran on packed snow the whole time and felt completely safe in our Yaktrax.  We saw a few other runners without them, and they seemed to be doing fine.

BTW, my replacement Yaktrax came just in the nick of time and fit perfectly over my trail shoes.

  • Questions:
  • What fun things do you have planned for this weekend?
  • Did anyone race this morning?
  • Since I still have my bird tree up in the kitchen, who else has at least one Christmas decoration up?

Disclaimer: Even though Yaktrax supplied a free pair of Yaktrax Pros for my giveaway, all opinions in this post are my own.
