There’s really not a lot to catch up from this past week. I had a few clients on vacation which meant a lighter work week, and I spent my extra time doing some much needed gardening and working on some future blog posts.

Backing up to Sunday, we arrived home from visiting my mom for the weekend and our son and his girlfriend came over for a quick visit. Of course, their visit meant we got to see our favorite pup, Pablo, who loved the new cow toy I’d gotten him!

Without a 7:30 AM client on Tuesday, I opted to sleep in and didn’t run until 6:30. Since it was my first run in ten days, I kept the pace easy (10:22) and felt pretty good. With the starting temperature at 59°, it felt amazing – a rare gift from Mother Nature in June. There were a few kinks, but I felt better the more I ran. I was surprised to see this new bridge and wide gravel path joining my neighborhood asphalt trail to another community so I did a little exploring to check it out. I approved!

On Thursday I met my running friends for Tiffany’s farewell run. I think they’d had her official farewell run on Saturday while I was visiting my mom, and then there was another one on Friday. Not to be outdone by Cher’s Farewell Tour, Tiffany is getting quite the sendoff. We wish her only the best in California, but will miss her terribly!

Yesterday morning bright and early, Tracy (pictured above in pink) and I met for six miles before it got too terribly hot (temps were forecasted to get in the mid-90’s). Even though I carried my GoPro while running, I totally forgot to take any pictures until after we’d said our goodbyes and headed our separate ways back toward our houses so I only got this solo pic.

Bill and I spent Saturday afternoon running errands, picking up my race packet for Wednesday’s Firecracker 5K, etc. On our way home we stopped at a little brick oven pizza place we’ve been visiting since our sons were little. This pizza and a spinach salad hit the spot!

This evening we’re meeting a few of our Cruiser friends for a barbecue and I can’t wait! I was asked to bring an appetizer and a summery cocktail and I’m thinking of making Liz’s peach and burrata bruschetta. It sounds amazingly delicious!

In case you skipped checking in on my blog this past week, here’s what you missed…

Looking ahead to this coming week…

  • Wednesday – Please be sure to join me for my monthly Wednesday Word linkup where this month’s word is dazzle.
  • Thursday – I hope to post my recap our Phelps Lake hike the afternoon of the Grand Teton Half where we met CL. We’ll see if I get it done this week.

In addition to the exercise I mentioned above, here’s a complete run-down of my workouts from this past week (completed mostly in our home gym)…

  • Questions:
  • Do you ever forget to take pictures and then kick yourself later?
  • What’s your favorite go-to appetizer?
  • Did you race this weekend?

And that’s a wrap… Have a great week!
