It’s time to sit down once again over a beverage of your choice and chat about things other than just running, riding, and training. Won’t you please join me? I’ll go first…

If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that I made a pillow out of my turkey trot race shirt. Each year my family runs in a local turkey trot and each year we get a long sleeved cotton shirt that I stick in a drawer to use as a throwaway at another race. Normally the logo isn’t that great, but I really liked this year’s mask-wearing turkey.

As cute as the turkey is, I knew I’d never wear the shirt and came up with the great idea to make it into a pillow. I didn’t have a pillow form so I used loose fiberfill and it turned out a little lumpy, but that’s okay because 2020 has been a little lumpy. LOL

If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that Bill and I had the quietest Thanksgiving in years. Way back in 1983 when we had just moved to Denver and knew no one, just the two of us spent Thanksgiving Day alone. This year, we once again found ourselves celebrating Thanksgiving alone, but this time it was due to a global pandemic, not a lack of family and friends.

If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that with my newfound time while being stuck at home over the Thanksgiving weekend I got all of our Christmas decorating done.

If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that our little next door neighbor is hilarious. He was out riding his bike when I stepped out to get our mail. I asked if they’d put their Christmas tree up and he said that they’d done it on turkey day. I asked if he’d eaten turkey on Thanksgiving and he said that he didn’t like it. I told him that I wasn’t a big fan either, but Bill loves it. Without missing a beat, he said, “Oh, that makes sense. That must be why he has a turkey on his car.” 😂 😂😂

And finally, if we were having coffee…..
I’d ask if you have any real or virtual races coming up, and if you do, I’d wish you good luck and remind you to have fun!

Today I’m joining Deborah at Confessions Of A Mother Runner and Coco at Running With Perseverance for their monthly Ultimate Coffee Date linkup which goes live the first Friday of every month.  Be sure to stop by their blogs for a cup of coffee and to say hello; and while you’re there, be sure to check out some of the other bloggers who are participating in the linkup.

  • Questions:
  • • What do you do with your old race shirts?
  • • How did you celebrate Thanksgiving? Was it quieter than usual?
  • • If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?
