Advanced Blogging Over My Pay Grade

Totally unrelated to my workouts, and feel free to skip ahead, WordPress notified me a few weeks ago that I was running an old PHP version (scripting language – yes, I had to look it up) which would no longer be supported in July. Updating it myself seemed overwhelming when I tried following the WordPress link and I thought I’d have to hire someone to do it for me. Yesterday morning; however, I noticed a link through my hosting company GoDaddy so I decided to give that a try. I dutifully backed up my site and nervously clicked the button to update to the latest PHP. Ten minutes later I refreshed my site and voila, it worked, I hadn’t crashed DebRuns!

While I was on a roll, I decided to check my site health and learned that I should delete old themes. During the process of trying to delete a few old themes, I clicked on theme file editor and the following popped up…

I closed out the tab, but when I refreshed my site, I saw error notices at the top of the page which you can see, too. Were they there after updating the PHP and I hadn’t noticed them or did it happen when I clicked on the theme file editor even though I didn’t do anything? My site health is telling me this is a critical issue and that debug mode is probably enabled. Now I have to figure out how to undo debug mode (if that is indeed the issue). Believe me, this is all well above my pay grade. 🙁

Overview of the Week

Before discussing each day’s workouts, here’s an overview of my workouts from this past week. Scroll beyond the infographic for daily details…

Sunday

Cycling: 34 miles
• Average speed: 14.2 MPH
• Bike: Specialized Roubaix Comp
• Surface: paved
• Elevation gain: 1,355 feet
• Start time: 1:18 PM
• Location: W&OD Trail Hamilton loop
• Weather: 77° and sunny, climbing to 80°
• What I wore: bike shorts, s/s jersey

With family plans during the morning, it was early afternoon before I got out to ride. Bill had already ridden 185 miles in the previous seven days  and opted to rest his legs. It was a stunningly gorgeous day – perfect weather for a ride.

I stopped on my way home at our favorite butcher to pick up chicken to grill. Don’t all cyclists carry raw chicken in their bike jerseys? BTW, the cold chicken on my back felt quite refreshing.

Monday

Strength training : 1 hour of total body

Tuesday

Running: 5K
• Average pace: 9:55
• Start time: 7:28 AM
• Location: Gravel road at the farm
• Weather: 65° and cloudy
• What I wore: shorts, tank and visor

Rolling: 10 minutes

Stretching: 10 minutes

With rain in the forecast, I was out the door earlier than planned for my run in an effort to beat it. VDOT had laid a fresh layer of gravel on the road and once again, I’d forgotten to bring my trail shoes to the farm.

Wednesday

Rest day

Thursday

Walking: 5K
• Average pace: 14:58
• Start time: 8:57 AM
• Location: neighborhood circle
• Weather: 74°, sunny, and humid
• What I wore: shorts, tank, and visor

After sitting in the car for six hours coming home from the farm, my back felt a little tight (tight, but not sore) so I opted to walk instead of run. Even if I decide to do a race on Independence Day, I decided give my back all of the TLC it wants and just take it easy with running for now.

Friday

Strength training : 1 hour of full body

Balance and stretching: 45 minutes

Saturday

Walking: 2 miles
• Average pace: 14:42
• Start time: 5:03 PM
• Location: neighborhood circle
• Weather: 74°, cloudy, and humid
• What I wore: shorts and s/s shirt

Last Week’s Blog Posts

In case you skipped checking in on my blog this past week, here’s what you missed…

 Questions:
  • • Any coding or blogging geniuses out there who know how to fix my debugging issue, if indeed that’s what’s wrong?
  • • What was your favorite workout of the week?
  • • Did you run in a race this weekend?

And that’s my rundown… Have a great week!
