For over three days I’ve been without my iPhone… It died on Friday night, so my first order of business when I got home from Blacksburg was to take care of replacing it. I run my business on my phone, and without it, I’m toast! I have running and fitness apps that I love to use… I have Doodle Jump that I need, for crying out loud! Finally this afternoon, I’m back up and running!
After Saturday’s race in Blacksburg, Bill and I drove to my parents’ house for a quick overnight visit while we were in the area. I will not post what my mom fed us in our short visit, but this picture says it all!
Before driving home Sunday, we ate at Kobe, my favorite little family-owned restaurant in Blacksburg. It’s Japanese steakhouse food, but without the fancy show, and with great prices. Joseph, Julie, and their friends joined us for a relaxing lunch at Kobe before our four-hour drive home. They have a fish sauce that everyone calls “Hokie sauce.” It’s put on the table in a squeeze bottle when the food is served and anyone caught stealing it is banned from the restaurant for life! I ordered my favorite, shrimp and scallops. Yes, I know that I just told you that I ate way too much food in the 24 hour visit at my parents house!
Our drive home through the the beautiful state of Virginia was just gorgeous! It’s such a beautiful time of year, and interstate 81 has blooming redbud trees all along it.
- Questions:
- Do you have a mom or grandma that loves to cook for you?
- What’s your favorite Japanese steakhouse food?
- Do you love or hate or love-to-hate technology?
I love Kobe, Love Va Tech, love and hate technology, and totally love your blog!
🙂
Love your farm picture, reminds me of back home on the farm. Looks a lot greener your way. Still waiting for Spring to bloom here in Chicago.
Every and any Japanese food! Yum!
We are about a week away from peak here in our part of Virginia. The trees are so beautiful!
I could not live without my iPhone.
My grandparents loved to cook for me and have family dinners. Old fashioned fried chicken cooked in lard, nothing tasted better.
My grandmother made sausage and gravy biscuits for breakfast every time I visited. My husband loved marrying into a southern family and going to her house for breakfast! 🙂
So glad you got your IPhone!
That picture of your drive reminded me of driving through VA to go to NH to visit Glenn’s family 🙂
Love to hate my technology. My Garmin is often my crutch. That drive looks so beautiful!! I love driving through the countryside. It’s always so relaxing and peaceful.
Glad you were able to get a new phone and that you’re back up and running!
Me, too!!! 🙂
