This morning I went out on my run all alone… One of my BRF’s was at spin class and the other BRF texted me last night to say that her knee was bothering her. Without a tempo run or specific goal for today’s run I had trouble focusing, so I just ran and took a few walk breaks a lot of pictures for you. With the Cruisers’ Ultra Training Run coming up on Sunday, I should be taking it easy on my legs anyway…
I seriously can never get tired of my beautiful neighborhood trails, so I guess that’s why I constantly post pictures of them. Won’t you please join me for a run one morning?
We could stop and eat some wild blackberries…
Or say hi to the beautiful deer tick host Lyme disease carrying creature…
Or stop and pet this beauty… I see Kira and her person almost every day on the trail. Kira and I are kindred souls because we both have one blue eye and one brown eye! Well, actually my left eye is only half brown…
Or we could stop and pet a snake… Let’s all say it together, “Eeeeeeewwwww!!!!!!!” I see a lot of snakes on my runs through the wooded trails of my community and on the open W&OD Trail. This morning I saw this dude (northern water snake) swimming in the creek right beside my house. I’m not crazy about snakes, but I really don’t mind one slithering across the trail or through the grass; however, there’s something that really creeps me out about snakes in the water. They glide through the water so gracefully (unlike my stroke), but send shivers through my spine nonetheless!
To my blogger friends that were looking forward to a shout out today in my “Top Ten Tuesday” post, I didn’t get it finished in time… Sorry about that! It will be posted next Tuesday, I promise!
- Questions:
- Which do you like best, blackberries or raspberries?
- When can I pencil you in to join me on a run? 🙂
- Kira or the water snake?
Raspberries!
So, you can pencil me in to join you when there are more Kiras and less snakes. 😉
See you in the winter! 😉
That trail is so pretty – I wouldn’t get sick of it either! But those snacks make me shiver just looking at the picture eeeek!
From now on, I will ALWAYS think of that snake when I run past that spot!!!
Love all the pics…on of my fav thing to do on a log run…picture taking…I can totally relate to the different color eyed situation…I dated a navy guy with two diff color eyes..my hubby has green eyes..they are supper pretty though…Next time give me a holla..I can def go running with you!
Thanks! My camera is small and fits right in the palm of my hand so I almost always run with it these days.
I use my camera phone!
I love that trail! Oooh. Can I answer both kinds of berries are amazing! And don’t we love neighborhood dogs on our runs? I swear I know the names of more dogs in my neighborhood than their people (oops).
So I’m not alone? I say hi to all of the dogs (many by name) and haven’t a clue what a lot of their people’s names are. 🙂
That trail looks so pretty! I want to run with you! 🙂 Maybe not in the dead of summer when we’re more likely to see a snake, though…
I think I’ve seen more snakes on the trail this summer than ever in the past! Yikes!
Raspberries. Trust me, if I lived closer to you I would totally join you on a run! That trail looks very similar to the one I ran on last week. Very jealous! That dog is gorgeous.
Raspberry fan here, too! AND we know that we run a compatible pace! 🙂
Definitely Kira. Raspberries please! We are taking our girls blueberry picking this w/e. Yum!
Do you know what’s embarrassing? I have no idea what a blueberry bush looks like. It is a bush, right? I’m going to Google it right now!
I’d love to run with you on those trails, so long as you can promise no snakes! Raspberries are definitely my fave. I’m excited because my parents have tons of bushes and they’re so close to being ready!
Sorry but I can’t promise that we wouldn’t see any snakes until the winter! Yum, fresh raspberries off the vine… My dog used to eat them off of the vine just as they ripened, but before we could pick them! One time I caught him and it was hilarious watching him curl his lips back to pick off each single berry without getting stuck by the thorns on the bushes. 🙂
I would love to join you on your neighborhood trail! It looks like the perfect place to run. Do you ever get chased by dogs? If the answer is no, then I’m getting in the car now to head your way! Get your Asics on 🙂
I did not know about your different eye colors! But you never took off your sunglasses when we met at the 3.2, haha.
I have never been chased by dogs on the trail, so head on up! 🙂 One time, however; Bill got bitten on the ankle by a little dog on a leash. He said that the owner didn’t seem the least bit concerned. Bill said that a lady just happened to walk by and she said that the same little dog had bitten her the week before. We’ve never seen the dog since.
Most likely if you’re outside with me, I’ll have my sunglasses on because my eyes are very sensitive to light. (wish I could insert my sunglasses dude emoticon here). 🙂
Blackberries!
Kira! Snakes are not my friend.
You and I are bound to run together some day! 😉
I would love that!
Raspberries!!
Anytime!!! So sad I missed my chance last weekend. When will you guys be in the DC area next?!
I don’t have any DC runs planned, but I’m sure Miles is always game to plan something if I say the Cruisers want to head over that way! 🙂
