Bill and I are in town for the Hokie Half Marathon and staying at The Inn at Virginia Tech (front view)…
The Inn at Virginia Tech (back view)…
Right after we cruised into town, we picked Julie up and took her to her favorite restaurant in Christiansburg (right next to Blacksburg)… There’s a whole lot of ‘Burgs going on in this part of the state…
I was thrilled when I learned that she liked this place because I’m always in the mood for Mexican food. The night before, the night before the race should be okay for eating Mexican food. You think? We made sure we hydrated well with margaritas. Perhaps my eyes were a little bigger than my stomach!
We had chicken fajitas all around!
I guess I was thirsty! 🙂
- Questions:
- What’s your favorite type of food?
- Do you like margaritas? Frozen or on the rocks? Salt or no salt?
- What’s your favorite pre-race dinner? ~pasta
I love all kinds of food: Italian, Mexican, Japanese, fusion… I’m pretty equal opportunity. 🙂
Love margaritas on the rocks with salt. Yum.
My favorite pre-race dinner is pasta, for sure.
Have a great time!
Thanks, and it’s pasta tonight for sure!
That looks like a beautiful place to stay!
Favorite type of food is probably potatoes. Any variety.
I looooove margaritas. Both ways work for me, but I gotta have salt on the rim.
I don’t really have a set “pre-race” dinner. I just make sure I don’t eat anything new or too funky or junky.
Haha Julie looks excited! The one time she took us there it was closed!! I will definitely be needing to go there when I visit because the fajitas looked delicious. Good luck at the race tomorrow!!
She was, and so was I since I LOVE Mexican food! And thanks!
Looks like fun! I’ve never stayed at the Inn, but I have been in it several times. Very fancy. We will have to try out El Mariachi sometime! Whenever we are in Bburg and want Mexican food, we go to El Rod’s. Those margaritas look yummy! I prefer mine on the rocks with salt.
Spaghetti and meatballs with plain tomato sauce is my go-to pre-race dinner.
We’ve been to El Rod’s after a game before. I liked it, too.
I just sent you an email with my phone number so you can find me in the morning. See you tomorrow!!! 🙂
Pre-race food is pasta!! You’re brave for trying Mexican. I hope it sat well 😀 I LOVE Mexican food. I could live off of guacamole and margaritas. On the rocks with salt!
Fortunately for me it was two nights before the race. I couldn’t eat it the night before the race or bad things could happen! 😉
I love Mexican, Thai, Italian, and probably lots more. Margaritas are good no matter what. Blended? Yes. Iced? Yes. Salt? Yes? No Salt? Hey! I ‘ll drink it anyway!
Pre-race? Spaghetti with marinara sauce.
Spaghetti with marinara sauce is what we had for our pre-race dinner last night. 🙂
I enjoy all kinds of food; but I think that absence makes the heart grow fonder, and your photos don’t hurt, either, so – Mexican for me, at the moment!
[Although, if I weren’t in Singapore, I would probably say Singaporean food! :)]
The grass, or should I say spinach, is always greener… 🙂
We always have pizza from We the Pizza in DC before a race. Lately, my BIL and I have gotten PRs every time we do it, so we call it PR Pizza =)
I need to eat at PR Pizza before my next race! 😉
