My mom told me that autumn was my dad’s favorite season, and I can’t believe that I never knew that. I love fall, but can’t say that it’s my favorite season. I always like the season that we’re in; although, I prefer winter when it’s snowing. Here are some of the things that I love about fall…..
Cool, crisp morning runs in shorts, short sleeves, and gloves…
Brilliant blue skies…
Hanging fall wreaths on my front doors…
Trees showing off their beautiful colors…
Leaves covering my running trails…
Digging my boots out of the closet so they’re ready to wear…
Running in the fall leaves in the woods…
Seeing a random turkey hen crossing the road in front of me…
Finding leaves that Mother Nature blew into a pile…
Treating myself to a Starbucks hot chocolate on a blustery day…
Remembering that last year I bought the coolest new scarf and leather gloves…
Pulling out my Thanksgiving decorations and preparing for my favorite holiday, while remembering to be thankful for my many blessings…
- Questions:
- What’s your favorite season?
- What are some of your favorite things about fall?
- What is your favorite holiday?
My favorite season is definitely fall. Between the leaves, the cooler weather, the cozy, warm clothes and not having to mow the lawn anymore it’s perfect! Plus you have football, so there’s that. My favorite holiday has always been Christmas. We always celebrate as a family and I always loved that. I haven’t had a Christmas with my parents or brother in many years but my grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousin still always make it special.
I’m beginning to think that you don’t like to mow the lawn! 😉
Love this! Such great pics, especially the action shot of you running with the blurry leaves. I love running in long-sleeves, shorts, and gloves. And hot chocolate is a special fall/winter treat for me too. Pile on the whipped cream, please!
Of course I bought that hot chocolate today for blogging purposes only! 😉
Awe. I love fall, too. I would add Football season starting to that list. The only thing I do not like is the days getting shorter.
As a Virginia Tech football season ticket holder, how could I have forgotten to add football? Geez!
FAll is my favorite too Deb! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I might pull up your antipasto pic and try to recreate for my big gang this year…enjoy!
I love making my antipasto platter! Call if you have any questions about what I put on it.
Your fall photos are gorgeous! I always love fall, but sadly our falls are generally too short!
I’m a sucker for summer, but a few years ago I decided to finally embrace winter and now love it, too! Maybe I love whatever season we’re in, so long as I have fun activities to do!
Thanks! We’ve had a very pretty fall.
I love fall for all those reasons and more! I enjoy all of the seasons, but fall is truly my favorite. I wear my boots all year round, but they’re not those fashionable ones 🙂
I think my favorite holiday is probably Christmas, but Thanksgiving would be a close second. I just love the family time and the decorations. And I’m a sucker for cheesy (but not too cheesy…. ahem Lifetime) TV specials.
Amy mentioned that she loves fall because it’s football season. How could I have not mentioned that?
I used to have boots like those you mention!
You didn’t mention it because it was an obvious reason to love fall! 🙂
You have a gorgeous front door, Debbie… I love the arch.
Recently I decided to try rocking a boot and I love wearing them. There are so many cute boot socks and tights out there as well. I love your boots 🙂
Fall is my favorite season and Thanksgiving and Christmas are my favorite holidays for sure.
Thanks! Bill refinishes the front doors and garage doors twice a year to keep the wood looking good. It takes him about a day, but it’s worth it.
Those are the first boots that I’ve owned in years, too! I got them at Nordstrom Rack last year and love them!
