Thursday afternoon brought us the biggest snowflakes I’ve ever seen!  I have a tendency to get overly excited about that kind of things, but seriously, even my clients couldn’t get over how big and beautiful the snowflakes were.

Around 9 PM it stopped snowing and I decided to take a walk around our house and snap a few night time pictures.  With the white snow covering everything I didn’t use my flash so I could get a cool effect.  I started in my backyard and captured this picture of our American flag.  Surprisingly I didn’t see any deer sleeping down by the creek.

A benefit of not taking the Christmas lights down on New Year’s Day was being able to admire the lights with snow on them.  Our holly tree has been so gorgeous!

I still love my spiral Christmas trees that I’ve had for many years!

Friday morning I started the day with a cup of hot chocolate in my favorite mug.  Thanks Betty for the Ghirardelli peppermint cocoa mix!

HotChocolateSnowI shoveled the drifted snow off of the driveway a second time, and watched two neighbor children sled down the hill in our side yard.  Every child should experience the wind blowing in their hair while sledding down a big hill!

Sledders

I spent the rest of the day procrastinating, and avoiding taking our Christmas decorations down…

  • Questions:
  • Did you get snow from Hercules?
  • Hot chocolate or coffee?
  • If you grew up with snow, what’s your fondest memory of sledding as a child?
