Yesterday, I was cleaning about 8.5 inches of snow off of my car and postponing my trip to visit my mom.
Today, VDOT had my back, and it was clear sailing all of the way across the great Commonwealth of Virginia!
Stay tuned for some muddy country road runs in the next few days…
- Questions:
- Would you prefer to run in muddy gravel or on dry pavement?
- If you were in yesterday’s snow storm’s path, how quickly did your department of transportation get you plowed out? ~ Overnight!
Glad you had safe roads to drive! Enjoy your visit and country running!
I think I’d prefer muddy gravel!

Thanks! I had a great run this morning, and saw three of my uncles while out!
I think I’d probably always pick the pavement. LOL
That’s good that they cleared you out quick. Our DOT has been awful this winter, especially in the smaller neighborhoods like mine. I’m so glad it’s almost over! The forecast shows a high of 51 for us for my race on Saturday and I can’t wait!!!

They really get our cul-de-sac cleared out quickly. I’ve been impressed this year. I’m ready for spring, too! Today was beautiful here, and I ran in capris, short sleeves, and NO gloves!
Hope you are having/had a good trip at your mom’s! I would definitely choose muddy gravel over pavement 🙂
