After weeks of tweeting, instagraming, facebooking, and blogging about Cooking Light and Health’s Fit Foodie 5K Race Weekend, it’s almost here! Are you ready for a fun filled healthy weekend in the Mosaic District in Fairfax ? I certainly am!
I have been a fan of Cooking Light for a very long time. For many years I gave their magazine subscription to my very good friend each year for Christmas. The race ambassadors were sent Cooking Light’s Dinnertime Survival Guide and I can’t wait to dig into it! I already have their Complete Cookbook and refer to it often for family favorites.
Health provided each ambassador with a pair of earbuds in a handy little pouch. As every runner knows, earbuds are a necessity for music-loving runners.
New Balance was kind enough to give each ambassador a new pair of running shoes! I chose the 1080v4’s which make me feel like I’m running on clouds. I’m planning Saturday’s racing outfit around these beauties!
The Green Spoon is giving each ambassador two gluten-free gourmet lunches and dinners! It looks like someone is getting a night off from making dinner one night next week!
And just today Bill and I came home from work to find a big white perishable box waiting on the front porch. Inside was such a pleasant surprise! Sartori Cheese had shipped five cheese wedges, a cutting board and knife, and four wine glass charms. Bill and I added the Apothic Red wine! I haven’t tried the other cheeses, but I can say that the Asiago Rosemary and Olive Oil is fabulous!
Sartori also sent the ambassadors a cooler bag, water bottle, hat, and pedometer (not pictured).
Posh Seven Magazine gave each of the ambassadors a mug when we checked in at the Light Up The Night VIP Cocktail Party on Friday evening. (edited 6-22-14).
Thank you again to all of the sponsors of the Fit Foodie 5K Race Weekend. I look forward to meeting many, if not all, of you this weekend!

These sponsors were awesome! Ordered my meals yesterday and can’t wait to try them out!! I love both red and white. Nothing like a good crisp white on a 95 degree day 🙂 And I love the Mosaic District, there is definitely some great shopping and eats there!! I look forward to going back!

I discovered that I live outside the delivery area for The Green Spoon… 🙁
I’m bummed to miss this one! I’m doing a tri that weekend but if I knew about all of the bling they were giving I might have applied myself. I’m sure you will all have a great time together. Looking forward to reading about it. Mosaic is a fun little area.

Good luck on your tri!
How fun! And what awesome sponsors!
I have a bunch of recipes that are great for healthy meals – sometimes just a simple grilled or blackened salmon or tilapia with green veggies and cous cous.
Pinot noir, please.

Pinot noir is my wine of choice as well!
Those are some great gifts. Favorites have to be the shoes and the cheese gift set. Hope the shoes help you dominate your run.
Sorry no wine for me, have never liked it.

I can totally understand not liking wine. I didn’t develop a taste for it until about six years ago. I still can’t stand white wine…
Wow! You are LIVING.THE.DREAM. with those goodies 🙂
The shoes are adorable ~ and the Dinnertime Survival Guide is right up my alley.
I can’t wait to hear all about your weekend!

The sponsors certainly spoiled their ambassadors, didn’t they?
Whew, your back must hurt from carrying around all that swag 😉 Love those shoes! My favorite go-to healthy dinner during the week is fish with veggies and rice. It’s so easy to thaw some fish the night before, soak it in marinade when I get home from work and then bake it after my run. In fact, that’s what we had on Wednesday evening!

What’s your favorite fish and marinade?
Lately it’s tilapia with lemon pepper marinade.
Sounds delicious!
