Usually I write much of my Sunday recap during the week as we go along, but I had several things going on and decided that I’d have plenty of time to get to my recap written on Saturday or Sunday, so I focused on living in the current – like getting to visit with both of our sons this week – Joseph on Monday afternoon, and Daniel on Monday and Wednesday evenings.

I headed straight to the mall to do some returns after dropping Joseph of at the airport on Monday. While in Old Navy I snagged these three headbands for $1.49 to $2.99 each on clearance! On a side note, no matter how old my little boy is, I will always cry when dropping him off at the airport, and I preceded to cry all of the way to the mall.

On Tuesday, Tracy and I decided to skip the single digit windchill and go out for our run at noon when the sun had warmed things up a little. It was quite windy and definitely the coldest run of the season.

I didn’t take my GoPro with me for our five-mile run because the battery dies so quickly in the extreme cold. I swung by my house (remember, this wonderful trail runs right by my yard) and grabbed my GoPro, and then captured this picture with it while running an additional mile.

Wednesday I headed out for a run/walk. I probably should be riding my spin bike on Wednesdays, but the day was so beautiful that I took advantage of enjoying the sun again after our two previous weeks of dreariness.

Thursday’s gloomy solo run took me off-trail for a little bit as I explored one of the side paths off the neighborhood trail. I think it was made by kids cutting through to a nearby street. Anyway, it made me really miss trail running – something I hope to get back to in March.

I spent quite a bit of time taking down our Christmas decorations during the week. My goal was to get the Christmas tree taken apart and boxed up so Daniel could help carry the boxes to the basement while he was visiting Wednesday evening. On Thursday morning he flew to Cancun for business for a week – rough life, I know!

My final Feetures! shipment of the year arrived last week as well. I had a contest for my running friends and the winners are going to love their prizes! If I’m selected as a Feetures! ambassador again this year, watch for a giveaway on the blog in the spring!

Saturday I skipped my long run when I woke up to emails from my two Cruiser running buddies saying they wouldn’t make it. I went back to bed thinking I’d run later, but when I got up I just didn’t feel like it and chose to be lazy. I spent the afternoon lying around watching a Flip or Flop marathon on HGTV, thinking I’d head out this morning to make up my missed run.

Unfortunately, I woke up to a spinning room. Vertigo… It was 4:30 this afternoon before I was able to stay upright. Since then I’ve been able to function almost normally as long as I don’t move my head suddenly, and I just ate for the first time today.

Sadly, the vertigo caused me to miss our annual MRTT volunteer luncheon which I was so looking forward to!

Have a great week!

  • Questions:
  • What bargains have you found recently?
  • Have you ever had vertigo? Once before for me about 15 years ago, but the jury’s still out whether that was vertigo or food poisoning.
  • Did you race this weekend?
