Welcome to Wednesday Word, a weekly linkup for everyone, not just health and fitness bloggers. Each Wednesday you will have a single word prompt to write about. Let your imagination run free and share with your readers your interpretation of that word, or simply use it as inspiration for your post. Today’s word is confident….. I’d love to have you link up, and if you do, please remember to follow my six simple rules.
Confident – having a feeling or belief that you can do something well
or succeed at something : having confidence;
showing that you have confidence;
certain that something will happen or that something is true
~ Merriam-Webster
I tend to wear an outer shell that exudes confidence. I usually take charge, I can be bossy, and I always appear very self-assured. I am self-reliant and extremely resourceful; however, at times I second guess myself, and before I know it I’m diving down that rabbit hole of self-doubt.
As for those times when I second guess myself and fall down the rabbit hole feeling anything but confident? I dust myself off, reevaluate what I have to offer the given situation, and revise my plan of attack in a different way until I come up with a solution. At that that point, my confidence builds and I barrel full steam ahead.
Other times? There’s no need to doubt my confidence…
I am confident that I’ve brought much happiness to my parents over the years.
I am confident that in the eyes of my husband I am a beautiful, funny, and amazing woman.
I am confident that my sons think of me as a fun and loving mom.
I am confident that I am a loyal friend.
I am confident that I have a positive impact on my clients.
I am confident that I make at least one person laugh every day.
And I am confident every time I toe the starting line of a race. Running is my passion and as I get ready to run I know that one of two things will happen: I am either confident that my training went well and my race will go off as planned, or that I will throw caution to the wind and run the race just for the fun of it, chatting and stopping to take pictures along the way. Either way, I win.
When are you most confident?

Next Wednesday’s Word: Serendipitous
Hmm, I’m not sure I’m ever confident at the starting line – maybe I’m too excited to notice!
Probably!
Loved this week’s word, confidence is such an important topic for women. And your confidence does come through in your posts !
Yes, I certainly agree that confidence is an important topic for women, and thank you!
When am I most confident? What a great question! I’m not the most confident person. But I can be take charge, too. I’m a contradiction!
I’m confident when I’m baking/cooking, usually. Maybe that’s part of why I love it so much!
I’m confident when I’m putting together outfits to wear — I know what I like & what looks good on me.
I’m confident when I tell every hairdresser in creation that I want my bangs shorter. Usually multiple times.
Thanks for making me think. I really need to think about this!

I’m envious of your talent, because I am not confident when putting together outfits, and I have even less confidence when it comes to selecting jewelry to go with my outfits. I’m confident in the kitchen, though, and didn’t even think about that.
I have to admit that there are many times when I’m not confident, but I’m confident I’m confident in my faith and that I’ll finish something I start. I’m also confident in the kitchen with cooking and baking.
Always finishing what you start is a great trait to have!
LOVE this post and love this Wednesday Word!
I am a Capricorn and I think confidence is in my blood.
I am pretty confident most time except when I am in a room of people I do not know. I need some time to warm up and then my confidence returns 🙂
Thank you! And yes, I am not very good at mixers because I’m not confident mingling among strangers.
I am definitely most confident after accomplishing something I doubted I could do. Thanks for the linkup!

That’s a great time to be confident! And, you’re welcome!
You definitely come across as confident and I’ve always loved that about you. People automatically look to you as a leader and you do a great job filling that role.
I am also confident in myself and am very self-reliant, but in a different way from you. I like to be the one behind the scenes, putting in the work to make an event run smoothly. I don’t like being the one to take charge in front of everyone, though, and often look to someone else to fill that role.

Awww, thank you! Sounds like we’d make a good team for working on a project. 😀
My confidence waxes and wanes. As soon as I start to feel like I’ve got this whole life thing–boom! The rug gets pulled out from under me.
Ah, life!

Isn’t that the truth in so many ways! Ah, life!
The things in which you are confident grow from your experiences — I truly can’t think of a better basis for confidence.

Anne, that’s such a good point – thank you.
I think you exude confidence and I love that about you. I have become more confident as I’ve aged but I wouldn’t say I am confident at the start line

Awww, that you, Deborah! I agree, age does increase ones confidence. 🙂
I always feel most confident when I have a plan. Training plan, to do list at work, recipe to follow and food prepped…whatever the case may be.

Yes! When you’ve got everything set up for success, how can you not feel confident?
Overall, I am not a very confident person….
I do better when in motion though, and I am usually pretty confident in my ability to keep my self moving forward.

That’s good, and it sounds like you know what you need to do to build your confidence.
I love that you mention that you are confident in who you are in relationship to your family. I hope that I have brought just as much joy to my parents! I love that you included that!
Thanks, Meranda! Family is so important to me, and I always think of them, or my impact on them, first.
Those are wonderful things to be confident about Deb! I am the most confident after a long, hot, sweaty, tough, completely spent run. Thanks for the link!

Exactly – what’s not to be confident about then! 😀 And, you’re welcome!
nice! I love that feeling of my feet on the pavement, sports bra on and it is game on- totally in charge and no one but me and the wind (or heat) – it does leave me with a very confident feeling even when I never win 🙂

Yes, that’s a great feeling!
What a great choice for the Wednesday Word and esp a great word for women! I am slowly but surely getting more confident in the kitchen too! My hubby is still a better cook than me but I am getting there, slowly but surely!

Good for you! I’ve learned that with cooking, experience brings confidence.
