Sometime yesterday afternoon I misplaced my workout log. I remember picking it up from my desk and carrying it down to the basement yesterday afternoon where I planned to work on my weekly run-down while watching college football, and that was the last I saw of it – until a few minutes ago. I spent way too much time looking for it last night and this morning and I was sure I’d put it somewhere ridiculous – like the kitchen freezer or the trunk of my car while mindlessly doing something else. On the positive side, I probably got in about 5,000 steps just looking for the stupid thing. 😉
I found it this morning on the basement coffee table where it had been all along under Bill’s laptop. I could have sworn I’d looked there a hundred times… HaHa!
Running
If you follow me on Instagram, you know that our granddog Pablo was visiting for the week. My biggest concern was not getting him off of his schedule with my ridiculously early 4:20 alarm. It ended up working fine. He stayed on the bed while I got dressed and then came downstairs with me. I took him out to pee and once I left to go running, he went back upstairs and slept until I got back home. I fed him at 6 AM (his scheduled time) and then either Bill or I walked him at 7 AM depending on which one of us had to rush off to work first. It went much smoother than I’d expected even though his bathroom urges didn’t always fit in with our walks and I’m proud of him for having no accidents during his stay!
Walking
As I just mentioned, we got a lot of walks in this week thanks to Pablo. We discovered that he loved a half mile loop through the woods and found that he’d almost always “go” if we took him past one particular spot. Let me tell you that after he did his business, I carried that green poop bag in the most dignified way possible for the rest of our walk!
He loved chillin’ by our mailbox and usually put on the breaks when it was time to come inside. As cute as he is, he can be extremely stubborn!
On Tuesday afternoon, Pablo and I stopped by to visit Teddy and give him a Halloween scarf I’d made (I had enough fabric to make four scarves). He and Pablo were more interested in the treats I’d brought along than in playing with each other (Teddy is a little older and less playful). Teddy’s human is my good friend Tracy whom I run with when our schedules permit.
Pablo posed for a picture with our Halloween goodies and loved seeing other dogs who came with some of the trick-or-treaters!
On Wednesday, my Cruiser friend Joe brought Lincoln over for a nice long play date. We took them for a walk first and then let them play in the basement where they ran circles until they collapsed!
And of course after a walk, finding a sunbeam for a nap is the best way to recover!
Biking
I wasn’t on my bike or my stationary bike a single time this past week and I’m going to blame it on Pablo. Every second that I could, I had him outside enjoying the fresh air and gorgeous weather. Skip ahead to 50 seconds into the video and you’ll see what we would have looked like if I’d taken him for a ride! 😉
Weight Training
My sidekick watched me from the comfort of the carpet beside our gym while I lifted this week. I was surprised that he didn’t spend more time in the gym while I was working. I even took treats down for my clients to give him, but he preferred to stay upstairs and away from the action. Except for when I trained Betty, Pablo loves Betty!
Yoga
Pablo’s downward facing dogs are far better than mine! One of these days I’m going to get a good picture from the side of him doing downward dog!
In case you skipped checking in on my blog this past week, here’s what you missed…

In addition to the runs I mentioned above, here’s a complete run-down of my workouts from this past week (completed mostly in our home gym)…
- Questions:
- Do you misplace items only to find them in an obvious place after spending way to much time searching?
- What was the most fun thing you did this week?
- Did you race this weekend?
And that’s a wrap… Have a great week!

I’m linking up with Holly at HoHo Runs and Wendy from Taking The Long Way Home for their Weekly Wrap. Be sure to check out not only the hosts’ posts, but the other great bloggers joining in on the fun!
I got my yoga mat out for the first time in a while. I actually think some yoga stretches are bad for my hip/hamstring tendon injuries and I didn’t want to take a chance before MCM. My dog Benji did a perfect downward dog on my yoga mat and wouldn’t get off! I hat to physically almost lift him off the mat so I could get started!
Your granddog is adorable!
I agree, the risk of over-stretching is a concern, and I think yo were smart to postpone doing any poses that didn’t feel good on that area of your body. Can’t wait to check out your MCM recap. Looks like it’s posted! 🙂
Aww, Pablo is so cute! He looks so happy with his buddy.
I don’t feel like I did anything super fun this week–it was uneventful which in my book is always a good thing!
Agreed, uneventful can be a good thing!
Love all the Pablo pics! He’s such a unique looking and handsome dog. He appears to have had a blast with his buddy- a tired dog is a well behaved dog 🙂
Thanks! Pablo is a schnauzer and terrier mix – quite the handsome combo. IMHO 😉
It was a pretty fun week (hello, Halloween!). Our youngest had a big birthday. The hubs and I road-tripped to a football game (and then drove back home). No racing, but I’m kind of all raced out for awhile. Pablo is such a cutie 😉
We had so many cute trick-or-treaters this year. Their costumes were pretty amazing, too!
Your trip to the football game sounds exhausting. Can’t wait to read your recap!
Isn’t that annoying when you can’t find something you knew you just had? Many years ago I miss placed gift cards that were suppose to be christmas gifts. I was SO mad at myself (there were 4 or 5 cards to one of the Steak Houses and each had a significant amount on them). Nope, Never found them!
Looks like Pablo had a good visit! I have some fabric here to make some scarves for Baylee but I never got to it yet!
Oh my goodness, you never found the gift cards? That’s such a bummer!
You have the perfect basement for kids or puppies. Looks like Pablo enjoyed his visit as much as you did.
Yay for steps while notebook hunting
I agree, we have the perfect basement for lots of things, including parties! Pablo loves all the space we have and loves that he has so much room to run.
Oh goodness Pablo is a cutie. You are so sweet to watch him and entertain him so well. The dogs are super cute in their scarves!
They’re both such good dogs, too!
OMG this is so great!! i would love to have a dog for one week at a time and Pablo seems like the perfect one. He is TOO cute and I loved the video of him and his buddy running in circles around the basement. Glad he fit well into your schedule and yes, carrying a poop bag in a “dignified” way is pretty difficult so mad props on that one!!
If I could special order a dog as easy going as Pablo, I just might get one of my own. 😀 He’s coming back for another week on November 16th so maybe I don’t need my own dog after all!
OMG Pablo is such a cutie! I just love photos of dogs -they are my favorite animals.
I’m actually planning on popping in my yoga DVD shortly. My body really needs a good stretch!
Awww, thanks! I think he’s a cutie, too, but I’m a little biased! 😉
One of my nicknames for Bandit is Mr. Yogi cause he does a great down dog. 🙂 He stretches a lot more than Lola. Alas, he is also not much interested in playing with Lola. Maybe it’s a good thing, cause she’s like half his size and he’s like a bull in a china shop.
Lola almost always has an accident at the pet sitters — marking, of course — so I think Pablo did great. In fact, Lola has been having some issues at home, too. 🙁
OMG, I am constantly misplacing my car keys! It’s bad! Thank goodness I have a spare.
Mr. Yogi – that’s adorable! I so want to get a better picture of Pablo doing his downward dog.
