It’s time to sit down once again with a beverage of your choice and chat – I’ll remind you that I don’t like coffee or tea so my drink of choice today will be water. Let’s chat about things other than just running, cycling, strength training, yoga, and complaining about our most recent injuries. Sound good? I’ll go first…
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that we had our first snowfall of the winter on Monday. Our forecasted six to eight inches of snow resulted in only about two inches. Tuesday brought us a beautiful sunrise and I couldn’t resist walking down to the creek behind our house to take pictures.
If we were having coffee…..
I’d also tell you that Pablo and his humans (our youngest son and daughter-in-law) moved to Florida the day after Christmas. I may have shed a tear or two or a thousand as he hopped up into the backseat of their car, but I’ve rebounded and hope to visit in March. Pablo refused to look me in the eye when I took this picture – perhaps he sensed that I would break out into tears again if he gave me a cute head cock.
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that later today we’ll be starting our epic bike ride from Miami to Key West. Rather than shipping our bikes, we’re renting and at the last minute decided to only bring our pedals and not our saddles. Here’s hoping I don’t regret it! Stay tuned next week for a recap of our adventure.
If we were having coffee…..
I’d ask if you have any races coming up, and if so, I’d tell you to have fun and stay safe!

Today I’m joining Deborah at Confessions Of A Mother Runner and Coco at Running With Perseverance for their monthly Ultimate Coffee Date linkup which goes live the first Friday of every month. Be sure to stop by their blogs for a cup of coffee and to say hello; and while you’re there, be sure to check out some of the other bloggers who are participating in the linkup.
- Questions:
- • If you live where it snows, have you gotten much snow this season?
- • Caption the picture of Pablo for me!
- • If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?

We have gotten a little snow, but nothing like you have! The weather is so mixed up this year!
Enjoy your ride–I’d totally do that. The weather should be warm and welcoming. I’m looking forward to hearing all about it.
Pablo: “I’m not crying, you’re crying..”
Apparently it snowed again while we were gone.
You would have loved the ride. It was so pretty!
Although it’s snowing at the moment, so far so good. Although sometimes we get really socked in Feb & March, you just never know. What pretty photos Debbie! You sure do have a beautiful place you live.
All my animals have been total hams until Bandit. You whipped out a phone and they were there . . . except Bandit. He doesn’t like having his photo taken. He’s such a weird dog.
Have an epic time on your bike adventure!
Thank you, and yes, our back yard was one of the main selling points on our house.
That’s so funny about Bandit not liking to have his picture taken.
We got more snow than you this time! We got 9 last Monday and maybe 2 more today. I am not happy about being trapped inside again today! Have an amazing bike trip! I cannot wait to hear all about it
Yes, isn’t that weird how much more snow you got than we did?
I’m so excited to hear all about your exciting Florida ride! I hope the rented bikes (and saddles, LOL) work alright. We got our bike back from the shop, and may have bought an inexpensive second one. I’m looking forward to getting in some Florida biking today, over lunch.
It was a fun adventure! I’m hoping to get a recap up later in the week.
Love your backyard photos. Glad you didn’t have as much snow and had no trouble escaping south for your ride. Can’t wait to read all about it.

Thanks, Cari! We were nervous that our flight might be delayed or canceled, but got lucky. I’m hoping to get my recap up later in the week.
Oooh, I’m shedding imaginary tears for you- must have been hard to say goodbye to them : (
BUT! How exciting about your ride! I can’t wait to hear all about it- have fun!!!
I know, I was so sad to say goodbye.
The ride was fun! I’m hoping to get my recap up later this week.
I don’t usually like being out in snow but those photos look absolutely gorgeous! <3
That sounds like an amazing ride–looking forward to hearing more about how it goes!
Thanks, Farrah! I’m hoping to get my recap up later this week.
The combination of fresh snow and a sunrise is something special!
I live in Denmark, we rarely get much snow, and when it comes, it disappears within a couple of days. A month ago we had a snowstorm. Compared to what I’ve seen elsewhere, it wasn’t too bad, but it managed to put my city in gridlock. The usual 5 min ride home from work suddenly took 2 hours, all public transport stopped and a large group of customers and employees was forced to sleep inside an IKEA. A couple of days later, the snow was gone and everything was back to normal.

Even though we get snow somewhat regularly, out area still grinds to a halt with the lightest snowfall.
We got snow on New Years Day and some of it now is ice and still on the ground. It was very cold this week and I stayed indoors. I am so sad that Pablo and his humans left. He does look sad in the photo. What an adventure you’ll have in FL!! I am sure it will be an amazing ride.

I love snow, but not ice. I’m just too afraid I’ll slip and fall. Stay safe!
I’m not that far from you and we got 9″. I think everyone was shocked.
I’m jealous of everyone taking vacations in warm weather locations. My next two trips involve Michigan…

Yes, we usually get a good bit more than you, but this was a weird storm that hit east of us harder.
It was nice to escape to Florida and miss Thursday night’s snow. Here’s hoping the weather during your Michigan trips is during a winter warmup.
As you I don’t like coffee but sometimes I drink tea with lemon especially after a workout in the cold.
The photo with the snow and the sunrise is very beautiful.
I live in a place where we rarely get snow. The last was in February 2018 and after 2 months I retired!!!!!
Pablo is a lovely dog.

Thanks, Stefano! It was a beautiful morning after a dreary day of snow and I couldn’t resist getting outside to enjoy it.
I know I’m biased, but I think Pablo is the cutest, too!
