Rain, Rain, and More Rain
I can’t pinpoint exactly what caused me to have a lackluster week, but I felt off even though I was completing my workouts as scheduled. I’m sure a week of rain with no sightings of the sun all week long until Friday didn’t help, but usually the weather doesn’t have such an effect on me. Whatever the case, I’m ready to move on and hope to not be so mopey this coming week.

The weather was close to perfect for my later-than-planned run. While Bill opted to cycle, I knew I’d get too cold so I stayed closer to home. It’s funny how I’d happily head out for a ride in the fall under these temperatures, but in the spring I’m afraid of getting too cold.

I think the meh week was going around for a lot us. The weather does have a huge effect on me — part of why I’m desperate to move, although I know it’s probably going to take years.
We have more rain on the way, but warmer temps, so hoping for a more lively week next week!
I only walk, hike, and run outside. 🙂
It certainly sounds like it was a meh week all around. I’m sure it was the dreary weather. This week has been so much better with warmer air and lots of sunshine!
I’m the same with biking this time of year! I think it’s because I haven’t had a chance to gradually “build” the layering game (like in the fall when it’s progressively getting colder). And, we know it’s MUCH colder on wheels than on foot! Our weather was a big MEH in Iowa, too. Monday was decent, but the rest was wet and very windy until yesterday.
“Gradually “build” the layering game” – exactly! I rode today and didn’t have to wear a jacket. Yipee!
usually 40’s feels pretty warm to me but today the wind was just howling and I was freezing out there in my capris. Go figure! I really hope we have a better week this week weather wise.
This week’s weather is so much better!
It sounds like a lot of us had meh weeks–this weather is so mentally exhausting. Seriously, on Friday, I wanted to bail on my run, call off work, and go back to bed. But I had a full schedule and people were counting on me. The sun was out today and it made all the difference!!
Warmer temps and the sun being out this week has made so much difference in my attitude!
After a few “meh” weeks for me, this one was actually pretty good. It sounds like your weather could be to blame- that’s an awful lot of rain. Maybe it was also a little travel hangover- you were just in sunny Florida. Anyway… hopefully it will pass! You still had a great week of workouts.
I think you’re correct, Jenny. This week both the weather and my attitude have been much improved.
Rain. Rain. That was our weather too. And even rained several times this weekend and it was not supposed to.
Good news was that it was chilly and dry during my race.
Anxious for spring. Like everyone else.
That’s great that it finally dried up and you had good weather for your race. Spring is definitely here in Virginia this week!
I feel like my past month has been kind of meh, partly because of work, but I know it will turn around though.
Once the weather improves, I think that will put some pep in our steps!
I’m already feeling better from this week’s springlike weather. Hope you’re having equally nice weather!
I try to exercise as much as possible outside, no matter the weather. Once the temperatures reach 60 degrees with the sun in the spring, I try to spend all day outside. The first day that you can be comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt outside is, in my opinion, the best day of the year.
Last week started great. We had interesting workshops at my study and great weather until Friday. Friday, we had snow (again), and to make it even better, the gym I’ve been a member of forever went bankrupt and shut down that very same day.

Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear that the gym where you workout has closed due to bankruptcy.
Great job, in spite of the rain!
I am usually always outside. The only time I take it inside is when we have hurricanes, tornadoes and lightning. The temps get very hot and very cold here, but not enough to make me skip outside.

Thanks, Jenn! I agree that outside is almost always best!
