Happy Passover, Happy Easter, Happy Spring
Yesterday while out on my bike ride, I wrote in my head a clever introduction into today’s blog post and now I can’t even remember what it was about… So instead, I’ll wish you a happy Passover, a joyous Easter, and a wonderful spring!

Bill and I rode the 8 miles to Plum Grove Cyclery to meet the VeloPigs for our first-of-the-season VeloPigs gravel ride (it was the piggies third time gathering this spring). I was super pumped that my new friend Kim and her husband had joined the drove.
We opted the join the slower group of party pacers which consisted of about 25 cyclists. There are two other groups called business and business casual. and their distance is usually longer, but since they ride much faster they usually finish shortly after the party pace. To make up for the shortened distance, Bill and I added 16 miles with our ride to and from the group ride. The weather was perfect and we had a super fun day!
Last Week’s Blog Posts
In case you skipped checking in on my blog this past week, here’s what you missed…
- • Sunday – Weekly RunDown: April 3 – 9 / Meh Week
Questions:
- • If you celebrate Passover or Easter, how are you celebrating?
- • What’s your favorite thing about spring?
- • Did you run in a race this weekend?
And that’s my rundown… Have a great week!

I’m linking up with Deborah at Confessions of a Mother Runner and Kim from Running on the Fly for their Weekly Run Down. Be sure to check out not only the hosts’ posts, but those of the other great bloggers joining in on the fun!
Ha! Me favorite thing about Spring is the summer season that follows 😉 I’m jealous of your outdoor rides! We had dinner with some friends last night, and the wife and I were scheming when to start our weekly “hilly rides” (not for a few weeks…way too cold in Iowa to be outside, on wheels) and also some summer long rides 😉
Yes, I’m happy to be back outside on the bike; however, this week’s weather isn’t looking as accommodating. If our summers weren’t so humid I’d enjoy them a whole lot more.
Sounds like you had a great week! It must have been nice to get outside so much. To answer your questions… now that I live in Florida spring is not my favorite time of year! It just means we have a ton of really hot weather ahead of us. We don’t do a lot for Easter- my daughter still gets an Easter basket and we’ll make a nice dinner. I hope you’re having a great day!
Thanks, Jenny! Last week’s weather was fantastic, but this week’s forecast doesn’t look so great.
Wow, spring has sprung there! Love that butterfly mural. Sounds like a really fun week with all kinds of fresh air 🙂
We rode off the trail in search of a different mural and were happy to see the butterfly!
Sounds like a fun week!
I do that all the time — compose great stuff on the run & then completely forget it. If it’s an idea I’ll usually make a note or I know I’ll forget it by the time I’m done.
We had brisket on pre-passover, LOL! And I made matzo brei, my favorite, for lunch yesterday. My husband even ate it. I think he just didn’t want to make something for for himself! I love it though.
I sometimes worry about my memory when things like that happen, but I think it must be common.
I had to look up matzo brei and it sounds like something I would like. According to the NYT recipe I found, I learned that you can make it either sweet or savory. Which do you prefer?
spring is my second favorite season behind fall. I dread running in the summer. I am doing GW Parkway next weekend for the first time. Looks like you had some great rides this week! I also think of post ideas on my runs and then forget them. Glad I am not the only one
We ran the GW Parkway Classic many times and I loved it, but didn’t love getting bused to the start so early and hanging out in the cold until it was time for the race to start. It’s a beautiful race so I’m sure you’ll get lots of great pictures. BTW, be prepared for extra tired legs after running on the concrete road.
We are not having a spring, lol, I woke up to snow this morning. It is supposed to warm up as the week goes on. Looks like you were able to get some nice rides in this week!
I always think of great post ideas when I’m running and of course, I forget them when I’m done. Sometimes when I’m falling asleep, i do the same thing!
Ugh, snow!
Okay, so based on comments, I am not alone in forgetting my genius blog post ideas especially if I come up with them while out exercising.
Great workouts!
We had a quiet Easter dinner with my parents. It was perfect.
I love all your cycling groups and rides. That must be so fun.
Cycling friends are a lot of fun (just like running friends).
