Global Running Day
Even though I’m not running the miles I once was, I still make sure to get out for a run every year on the first Wednesday of June which is Global Running Day. With a client cancelation early in the morning, I quickly fit in a run rather than waiting until the end of the day and was rewarded with this badge from Garmin (affiliate link).

Planking into the weekend…
Saturday
Other than easy untimed 1-mile and then .5-mile walks, I took a rest day in preparation for Sunday’s Loudoun 1725 42-Mile Gravel Grinder. Spoiler alert: the rest day worked and I had an amazing ride!

Ha ha, when I’m at the gym I’m usually trying to attract the least amount of attention, so I definitely don’t dance! Maybe I need to change my attitude on that though.
Glad you were able to get out for a run on Global Running Day! I just realized that because I did my run on the treadmill, I wasn’t wearing my Garmin and so didn’t get the badge. Oh well- life goes on.
I realized I missed your Tuesday recap so I’m off to read it now!
Good point about not attracting attention at the gym. 😉
Bummer not not wearing your Garmin on your Global Day treadmill run.
No, I’ve definitely never had a dance party in the gym, unless Zumba counts, LOL!
Global Running Day passed me by. It just wasn’t a running day for me.
Glad you and Kim continue your streak of getting together to work out! And gad that your ride went so well.
Zumba – good point!
Not in a gym, but I did start a dance party in a distillery, if that counts. 🙂
Great job. I loved my experience at Run For The Pies this weekend. It was a little scary, but ended up being a gorgeous night.
We are supposed to get the smoke next.
I guess a distillery counts, too! I told my friend that my twist might have been better if I’d had a margarita in my hand. 😉
Run for the Pies – I’m intrigued!
Not in a gym, but I once started a dance party in a distillery. Oops.
We are supposed to be getting the smoke next. I hope you are staying safe.
My favorite workout was probably my Run For The Pies 5k Experience. It was scary with the storms, but ended up being a fun night.
I never had a dance party in the gym however I love the “old” music. I am a fan of the 70s, in my opinion the best period for music.I am so lucky because I could attend many concerts of such artists: Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Pink Floyd, Bryan Ferry, Chicago, Leonard Cohen, Bruce Springsteen, Mark Knopfler, Joe Cocker, Queen (without Freddy Mercury) + the Italian bands like Orme, Nomadi, New Trolls, Dik Dik etc.
Oh, you list some great American bands (I’m not familiar with the Italian bands you mention). My brother took me to see Chicago for my birthday one year. It was my first concert. 🙂
Great that you could get your run in in the AM on GRD! I didn’t even notice the badge from Garmin! Ha!
I bet the Twist dance party was fun! I probably would have done the same.
You had a good week 🙂 I would say my most memorable workout of last week was the 3KM we squeezed out on GRD. We were at a concert the night before, standing for hours and hours (ouch) then stuck in the parking lot for a hour and half and then had an hour and half ride home, so we home at like 2am. We were both absolutely trashed physically but had to at least give it a go for Global Running Day.
No races yet but coming up soon, I’ve just realised…
You earned bonus points for going on a run on Global Running Day when you were so exhausted!
We would have loved to have you join us for the twist!
