~ Runfessions ~
A collection of statements admitting
that one is guilty of a variety of running crimes…

It’s time again to join in on the fun and clear my conscience of recent running, biking, fitness, nutrition, and life in general faux pas. I know I’ll feel better when I’m done, and maybe, just maybe, I’ll give you a laugh or two in the process!

First off, I blogfess that when I sat down to write this I looked for an old runfessions post so I could copy and paste the outline and was surprised to find this one from April that I’d started, but had never published. Say what? All I had to do was take a current picture of the prayer posing frog.

I spinfess: Early one morning in April just before getting on my spin bike (affiliate link) to ride with Kim, I saw a spider climbing up the wall right beside my bike. I forgot all about him until later when I looked up and saw him on the ceiling. Apparently, he’d crawled up the wall and across the ceiling to directly over my head while Kim and I were riding. I’m not afraid of spiders, but I don’t like the thought of one hanging out over my head with the possibility of swinging down on his web to say hello.

I runfess: Sometimes I have unexpected cancelations when I’m at the 55+ gym and I’m left with an hour and nothing to do until my next client arrives. If the weather’s nice, I can go outside for a run or walk, and if it’s raining, I can use the indoor track where 1 mile is 23.7 laps. On this particular day, I decided to turn on Strava to track my walk and laughed afterwards when I saw the map.

I Stravafess: I’ve used Strava exclusively for recording my cardio workouts so back in July, I decided to start recording strength training with my Garmin (affiliate link) set to “other workouts” which in turn would share the data with Strava. At the end of the session when Garmin posted the workout to Strava I got this map even though I’d stayed within the confines of my basement gym. I haven’t tried to record a strength session since. 😉

I runfess: I’m going to see if I can link my Athlinks account to Strava so all of my old races are on Strava. I wish I hadn’t thrown my old training logs away because it would be fun to look back over the stats from those runs.

I runfess: I thought the picture on Marcia’s linkup poster was of a road in the sand until I looked closely enough to realize it’s snow. It reminds me of the sand road leading to the ocean from our beach house.

I blogfess: After seeing Marcia’s blog post this morning, I edited my blog to reflect the fall Runfessions poster (see below).

And finally, I runfess that I thought of a great new runfession earlier in the week and wasn’t able to write it down at the time and then forgot what it was. I’ve been trying to remember it all week to no avail. Oh well, if I think of what it was, I’ll add it to my next runfessions.

There you have it, my most recent runfessions; and you can bet that it feels good to get another set off of my chest! See you soon in the runfessional.

  • Questions:
  • • Do you use Strava or Athlinks? ~ I use both, but rarely check in on Athlinks and just use it as a place to claim all of my race results.
  • • Do spiders bother you? ~ Not really
  • • What are your runfessions?
