Birthday Miles
My favorite way to celebrate my birthday is to go for a bike ride and run using the number of years old I’m turning as my mileage goal. On Tuesday, my actual birthday, I rode 66 miles and on Thursday, I ran and walked a total of 6.6 miles. I’m incredibly grateful that I enjoy being so active and am able to do the things I love .

Nice work on that 66 mile ride! I’ll usually do a run that is a fraction of my age, lol. Not running 61 miles!
No races this weekend for me. I’m still trying to decide if I want to do a Turkey Trot on Thursday. My boys aren’t up for it this year.
Same – that’s why I only ran and walked 6.6 miles on Thursday, not 66 miles. 😉
Love your celebration.
I do have to run Kms for mine. And I don’t bike.
Favorite was my hike on Monday. No race until Thursday.
I see kilometers more and more in my future birthday celebrations, too.
Lots of fun celebrations for you! I’m kind of envious of people who have nice weather for their birthdays — not gonna lie. With a middle of February birthday it’s rare that I get that (but it does happen).
Enjoy your Thanksgiving with Pablo & his humans!
Thanks for the perspective – I was complaining that it’s usually colder than my liking for my birthday, but you’re right, it could be much worse.
Thank you! Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!
Happy Birthday Debbie! Well done on that 66 mile ride. Fittest 66 year old I know! 🙂
Awww, thanks Jessie!
Glad to see you had a great birthday celebration ride. It was the perfect week to be outdoors around here. Happy Thanksgiving
Thanks, Deborah! Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!
You’re 66???!! I somehow thought you were much younger. In any case, you LOOK much younger than an average 66 year-old!
What a cool 66 mile bike ride! And brilliant weather, too. Did everyone take the day off to join you?
Indeed I am 66 and thank you for your kind comment! Yes, we all cleared our calendars for the ride. 🙂
I’m loving all the birthday celebrations this week! That sounds like a perfect way to celebrate. I usually try to do a special birthday run, but I’ve never tried to match the miles (or kilometers) to my age. Glad you had a fun week!
Thanks, Jenny!
All the birthdays!
I always like to run a race for my birthday, even if its not ON my birthday. And I will try to make my miles sort of matching up. Sort of.
Hope it was a great and wonderful birthday week for you.
Thanks, Jenn!
It was so fun helping you extend the birthday celebratiion 😉 Those 66 miles on the actual day, though, very impressive!!!!!
Thanks for helping me celebrate! If only I could have shared some of my birthday cake!
So many of you have had birthdays recently!
That’s a good week of workouts and a lovely way to celebrate your birthday. I did planks last year on my birthday. 🙂 That wasn’t for celebration purposes, though! I don’t know what I would do exercise-wise to celebrate but I love the idea and may come up with something.
Yes, there’s a plethora of November birthdays in our fitness blogging community. 🙂
Happy birthday!! Nice ride! I celebrate my birthday with running my years x.x. We do have a friend who runs his age in miles. This upcoming year will be his 50th and thankfully next year he’s switching over to kilometers!
I always thought September was the most popular birthday month, but this week is loaded with them in this linkup 🙂
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures recently posted…Weekly workouts – recovery week
Thanks, Lisa! Yes, November is a busy birthday month for our little blogging community. Also, I’m in a group of seven running friends who get together every couple of months for dinner and out of the seven of us, four have November birthdays.
Happy birthday! A very good way to celebrate such special day.
Congrats, you look younger.
I have never celebrated my birthday with a special workout but it’s a good idea.
Thanks, Stefano!
