National and Global Days for the Fitness Enthusiast
The following national and global days are all worthy of celebration by us diehard fitness enthusiasts, assuming we participate in the sport. If not, perhaps it will be incentive to branch out and try a new activity. My personal favorite is National Personal Trainer Awareness Day on January 2nd which usually slips right past me without any fanfare.

National Personal Trainer Awareness Day – January 2nd
National Walking Day – first Wednesday in April
National Bike Month – May
National Ride a Bike Day – first Sunday of May
National Fitness Day – first Saturday in May
National Bike to Work Day – third Friday of May
World Bicycle Day – June 3rd
Global Running Day – first Wednesday of June
Global Wellness Day – second Saturday of June
International Day of Yoga – June 21st
National Weightlifting Day – September 23rd
National Hiking Day – November 17th
National Stretching Day – December 11th

We used to have a “Bike to Work” month at work (June), where everybody would make an effort to commute by bike or on foot. That was always great fun!
Will you be doing something on all of these days?
My husband always participates in Bike to Work Day even though he now works from home. I need to remember to clear my calendar that morning so I can join in on the fun. Last year he won a $15 gift card from one of our local bike shops!
This is really cool! I’ll do my best to celebrate the walking day, hiking day and weightlifting day!
There were plenty items here I wasn’t aware of – but I wasn’t surprised since there seems to be a dedicated day to anything now.
Fun! There’s a local cycling group that rides several days a week and posts their upcoming rides to Facebook. I crack up at the names because they’re named after whatever national day it happens to be like, “National Eat Your Brussels Sprouts Day Ride, National Fruitcake Day Ride, or National Carbonated Beverage Day Ride.” 😀
I only remember National Running Day in June. I could participate in National walking and hiking days if I knew about them in advance.
Nope, I never look at any of my badge if I have them. I only keep track of things on this blog.

Except for Global Running Day I hadn’t heard of the rest. There’s truly an “official” day for everything, isn’t there?
Yes, there’s a day for everything. My birthday is on National Pickle Day. LOL
I knew about Global Running Day and National Hiking Day (although I always forget it). I actually have a content calendar and will be dropping some of these in.
I love the badges for the different activities. I wish my apple watch tracked more.
