Today I’m linking up with Marcia at Marcia’s Healthy Slice for her monthly Runfessions linkup. Be sure to check out her blog and those of the other great bloggers linking up, too.
~ Runfession ~
A formal statement admitting that one is guilty
of a particular running crime.
I runfess: There are days when I don’t want to go out for a run, but I do so I can play with my GoPro.
I runfess: During the winter I wear my running jacket a couple of days without washing it, but recently learned that my running friends wash theirs after every run.
I runfess: Even though I am known for running in shorts and a short sleeved shirt when it’s only 38° outside, my hands freeze without gloves covered by mittens.
I runfess: I have not gotten up to run with my 5:30 AM running friends since before Christmas. Last Friday’s 6 AM run was the only early morning run I’ve been on in 2016.
I runfess: I haven’t trudged through my back yard to the trail to see if the snow is packed down enough for me to run on it.
I runfess: When my Garmin couldn’t find a signal on a run a few weeks ago, I didn’t freak out. Who am I?
I runfess: I just happen to know that it’s 123 days until National Running Day, and I’m already planning our celebration!
I runfess: It made my day this afternoon when Don’s Johns started following me on Twitter. What is it with runners and porta potties?
- Questions:
- What are your runfessions?
- Do you wash your running jacket after every run?
- Are you racing this weekend?
I feel you on the lack of running. I runfess that I have run less than 5 times this month 🙁
I do wash my running jacket after every run. I sweat something awful and would be offensive if I didn’t. Lol
I was suppose to do the MCRRC 5 miler this Sunday but it got rescheduled for next Month.
Thans for runfessing 🙂
I’m finding people are pretty equally divided on the whole washing their jacket thing. It’s fun hearing everyones take on it! 😀
Ha ha Dons Johns!! I so wash my running jacket often as well. Hope we are back out on the trails soon I miss them

So do I, but today when I tried to walk on the trail behind our house I sunk up to my shins. 🙁
I used to wash my jacket after every run but lately I’ve been letting it slide to two runs. Maybe cuz my runs have been so darn short. Does Don’s Johns make those nice oversized potties? It doesn’t take much to make me happy. Thanks for linking up!

Yes, Don’s Johns even has those fancy restrooms with sinks, AND luxury trailer restrooms for big events. Our running trails have the oversized ones, but they only have hand sanitizers in them, no sinks. Jeez, I sound like a sales rep for them! HaHa! 😀
I haven’t had to wear a jacket yet. Ha. I will hang up my running clothes and occasionally wear them again the next day, but only in winter. I sniff first though! And, I run by myself in the dark. No worries!

I didn’t even think about people not wearing jackets in the winter. I assume that if it’s cold here, then it’s cold everywhere! 😀
Ok, a portapotty company started following you on Twitter? That just cracked me up!!!!!! Best runfession all day.

I know you’re jealous! HaHa! 😀
It was fun to read your Runfessions. I laughed about the jacket one. I definitely don’t wash my jacket after every run. I live in Maine and I am wearing so many layers between me and my jacket I figure it’s fine for a few runs. Haha. Happy running!

That’s a good point about the layers. People seem to about equal with whether they wash their jackets after each run or not! Thanks for weighing in. 🙂
I don’t wash my jacket after every run, but I am going to wash my hat after every run. I discovered tonight before my run that it probably should have been washed after I ran last time. But it was to late, I just dealt with it… I love that a port-a-potty company started following you! That is so awesome!

Yeah, headbands and hats can get pretty funky quickly! 🙂
Wash my jacket after every run? Are you KIDDING me? I haven’t “run” off Darlene yet or maybe she’s just too polite!
I find people seem to fall into 2 categories: the uber clean & the slobs like me!

Good point! My running friends have never told me that I stink, so I think I’m good, too! 🙂
Well…about that daily washing of your run jacket (or not)…..most of my jackets get several wearings before washing because (in Iowa) I almost always have another (or several) layers underneath LOL . I seldom ever have my watch with me for running, unless it’s a long run and I’m training for something. And then, it’s more of a gauge for distance. I’m just not much of a tech-needy person LOL Sometimes, I don’t feel like running, but I suit up and go just for the sake of a fun (and hopefully motivational) post-run pic 😉

The layers thing is a good point about how many times you can get away with wearing a jacket. I rarely have more than a shirt and jacket on. If it’s super cold (teens or 20’s) I wear a long sleeved shirt, and if it’s in the 30’s, I wear a short sleeved shirt under my jacket. I’m usually dressed so I’m cold at first, but when I warm up, I’m just right, so I don’t sweat as much.
I always use my watch to track my distance, but don’t worry about the pace so much unless I’m on a tempo run.
I definitely don’t wash my running jacket or the fleece vest I wear after each run. Lucky if it’s once a week! I have enough winter laundry to do!
Excellent point! It’s amazing how much less laundry I have this winter with my husband injured and riding our spin bike indoors instead of layering for outdoor runs with me.
What?? Wash the run jacket after every run? uh, no way! I do only wear my socks once but I can’t say that other things! LOL!

As Judy pointed out in her comment, if you haven’t run off any friends, then you’re good! 😀
I am guilty of not washing my winter running jacket everyday…but by day 3, I can just smell myself and it is no good! Or, like his mornings long run, my jacket was sweat soaked and went straight into the laundry, even though I pulled it from the dryer pre run.
Yeah, that’s a good litmus test – when you can smell yourself! 😀
Oh my! I only wash my running jacket bi-weekly. I guess that’s another runfession!
