The Boston Marathon is the granddaddy of them all. It is the race that so many of us work incredibly hard to qualify for. Our dreams come true as we ride the bus to Hopkinton and then set out for our 26.2-mile run back to Boston. Today was the perfect day to run a marathon… And then this happened…
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the runners, spectators, and volunteers at the 117th Boston Marathon. God bless them all.
Terrible. Just tragic.
So sad…
There aren’t words. I am in disbelief that a day of celebration can turn into this.
Julie, Kelly, and I had such a great time watching the winners finish this morning. It just breaks my heart that this is how it ended. It is such an amazing achievement for the runners! We had a friend running in it but luckily she is okay!
I’m so glad that your friend is okay! Everyone I knew running in it was fine, also.
You have been so excitedly anticipating this race for weeks (judging by your blog entries). You are one of my first “real” connections to the race (I know you ran it, I know you love it, and I didn’t know much about it until now). My thoughts have been with you all day. After an emotional race this weekend I am sure today has been difficult. Hugs and prayers.
Thank you, Stephanie.
