I’m going to keep this week’s rundown super short…
Following up on Injury Recovery
I got my first spinal injection on Tuesday and by Friday my foot was no longer tingly and numb. I’m not feeling totally back to normal, but feel that I’m finally headed in the right direction. Whether or not I’ll need an additional injection will be determined at my follow-up appointment with my doctor on Tuesday.
Anticipation
Pablo has been visiting since Wednesday morning, and of course Bill and I are in heaven! There’s no doubt we spoil him and there’s even less doubt that he knows exactly where we are and that he’s about to get a puppuccino when we walk to Starbucks. Here he’s anxiously awaiting Bill to come back outside with his special treat.
Well worth the wait!
So what exactly is a puppuccino? As the label says, it’s a small water, hold the water and add whip cream. LOL
And Now on to a RunDown of this Past Week’s Workouts…
Running
Still no running; although when my doctor went over what I could and couldn’t do after my injection, he said to not run for a few days. Hmmm, that sounds promising! In all honestly, though, I haven’t felt like tempting fate and trying to run too soon.
Walking
With Pablo visiting, we took short evening walks and a longer walk on Saturday.
Biking
I fit in two rides, but had hoped to ride at least one additional time.
Strength Training
I took it really easy on Wednesday, the day after my injection, and not only did fewer exercises, but lightened my weights as well. Monday’s and Friday’s lifting sessions were pretty normal.
Yoga
I continued to focus on gentle stretches for my lower back every day and made big strides toward getting back into my regular yoga routine.
It’s on the Blog
In case you skipped checking in on my blog this past week, here’s what you missed…
- Sunday – All the Excuses
Looking ahead to this coming week, on Friday I’ll be joining in on the fun at the Ultimate Coffee Date. Also, I’m working on another installment of Ask Coach Deb and hope to finish up a post about hydration. I know that I mentioned this last week, but since I didn’t get to it, it’s still a possibility…
In addition to the workouts I mentioned above, here’s a complete rundown of my workouts from this past week (completed either outside or in our home gym)…
- Questions:
- • How’s your winter training going?
- • What was the most fun thing you did last week?
- • Did you run in a race this weekend?
And that’s my rundown… Have a great week!

Thanks, will do!
Glad that is seems like the injection helped! Hopefully you will be feeling back to 100% soon. You still did great getting in the workouts that felt good!
Thanks, Lisa!
Awesome, Deb, I really hope that you will be back to full force soon. You are so wise not to push it and to listen to your body.

Thanks so much, so do I! At least with age comes wisdom and I’ve learned to play it smart when I’m injured. 😉
