It’s my Birthday Week
Daniel, Jess, and Pablo came over for the weekend to help me celebrate my birthday a little early. Pablo picked out my card…
They gave me the best gift – a Nationals World Series Champions t-shirt and a Fight Finished towel! Now that’s true love – giving your mom the only towel you scored during the parade last Saturday in DC!
And just for fun, they picked up a box of Ovi O’s. Little did they know, but I had planned to buy a box for them for their Christmas stocking, but Giant was sold out every time I checked.
Pablo’s Advent Calendar
My friend Betty stopped by to visit on Saturday while Pablo was here. She had a special treat that she wanted to give to him personally. Pablo was so excited to see her and started sprinting through the house like a lunatic. Betty had found an advent calendar for dogs (and cats) at Trader Joe’s and couldn’t resist purchasing one for her little buddy.
Wednesday’s Unplanned Workout
My Wednesday ended up being very open with only two clients scheduled starting at 4 PM. I had planned to make the most of my day by finishing up my Bryce Canyon recap; however, Mother Nature had other ideas in store. When I saw the forecast for how cold it would be this coming week and that we had a chance for snow on Tuesday (it’s now been changed to a wintery mix), I knew that I needed to take advantage of the warm weather and cover our tables on the deck and carry the rest of the items into our garden shed. I ended up working outside until it was time to shower and head to the gym.
I was exhausted after my unconventional (more like functional training) workout and even though I didn’t get the blogging I’d planned on doing completed, it felt great to have finished the last of my fall cleanup and to be officially ready for winter.
And Now on to a RunDown of this Past Week’s Workouts…
Running
I ran three times this week, running for five miles each time. The only races in my immediate future are a 4-miler on Thanksgiving morning and a 5K in early December so I’m keeping the mileage low and hoping to stay healthy.
All three runs were on the trails in our community since it was light by the time I ran each morning. We had quite a bit of wind on Thursday night so Saturday’s run felt a little softer on the leaf-covered trail.
That’s a lot of leaves!
Biking
After my run on Saturday, I hopped on my spin bike (affiliate link) for a few miles.
Strength Training
Three of three workouts completed.
Yoga
I had plenty of time to fit in four yoga sessions this week, but only made the time to do two…
It’s on the Blog
In case you skipped checking in on my blog this past week, I was too busy winterizing on Wednesday to finish my planned recap so nothing got posted after last Sunday’s RunDown…
- Sunday – Bitmojis Tell the Story
Coming up this week, on Thursday I’ll have my annual birthday letter to myself; and no promises, but I hope to get one more recap completed from our week spent hiking in Southern Utah.
In addition to the workouts I mentioned above, here’s a complete rundown of my workouts from this past week (completed either outside or in our home gym)…
- Questions:
- • What’s your favorite cereal? ~ I rarely eat cold cereal, but Oat Squares are my choice when I do.
- • Do you still have any leaves on the trees where you live? ~ Our oaks still have green leaves on them, but most other leaves have fallen.
- • Did you race this weekend?
And that’s my rundown… Have a great week!

Thank you, you too, birthday buddy! xoxo
I just bought 3 Advent calendars for my grandsons today, but never thought about getting one for Benji! 🙂 Hope your birthday is a good one.

Thanks, Laurie!
Our trees are about 50/50 with leaves. A lot of the color has stopped, and we’re “enjoying” some drab browns/yellows. I was really hoping to get a few more pics of fall foliage, but I think I missed the boat on that for 2019. How thoughtful of Pablo to get you a card 😉
Our leaves didn’t get nearly as pretty as they do some years and they didn’t last very long this year. It was kind of the fall that wasn’t!
And yes, Pablo is so thoughtful! 😉
I saw that Advent Calendar at TJs! So cute! Too bad Ozzy is such a punk he won’t eat dog treats. Our oaks have very brown leaves but we have another “winter storm” in progress so I wonder if they’ll finally drop.
Most of leaves on the oak trees in our back yard don’t fall off until the spring when the new growth pushes them free. Unfortunately, that means we look out our back windows at ugly brown leaves hanging from the trees all winter long….
I stopped by TJ’s today to buy an Advent Calendar for my friend’s dog and they were already sold out! 🙁
Happy birthday week and birth month to us. 4 in the Wrap, I think.
I love that first shot of your shoe and the leaves. I had the trails yesterday and while there were oodles of leaves, many still hand’t changed. It has been a weird fall
How awesome that they make a pet friendly advent calendar & that your friend thought of Pablo. Hope he thanked her with all the zoomies

Pablo also gave my friend kisses on her nose! 😀
I agree, it’s been a weird fall. I don’t remember so many green leaves down, but of course we did have heavy rain and wind just a few days before I ran on that trail.
beautiful leaves!! Oh we live in leaf city hahah I have cleared our driveway a few times now. since I’ve been pregnant I can not get enough cereal!!! I really dig your visual for your goals! I had one ‘good’ nutritional day yesterday! haha one day is better than zero. lol

Thanks, I made my infographic from a free template I found online.
Oh, I could see cereal as being something that would taste so good during a pregnancy. 😀

We had a ton of leaves waiting to get picked up in our neighborhood, and yesterday it snowed! I think it will melt in the next few days, so I have to take the opportunity to put all of my garden stuff away. The snow surprised me and I didn’t get a lot of it done.

That happened to us once – our bags of leaves got completely covered by snow for a couple of weeks before the lawn refuge guys could pick them up. The snow I saw in the forecast didn’t happen, but at least I got my winterization completed before it got so terribly cold.
Pablo is so awesome. He picked out an amazing birthday card 🙂
Hope you have an amazing birthday !
we have a ton of leaves and it’s definitely fall here!! and my favorite cereal? I don’t know probably something like All-Bran Flakes haha! I think that makes me an official Old Person.
Thanks, Renée, I had a great birthday!
Actually, I think bran cereals taste pretty good, too!
