Welcome to Wednesday Word, a weekly linkup for everyone, not just health and fitness bloggers. Each Wednesday you will have a single word prompt to write about.  Let your imagination run free and share with your readers your interpretation of that word, or simply use it as inspiration for your post. Today’s word is carefree……  I’d love to have you link up, and if you do, please remember to follow my six simple rules.

Carefree -having no worries or problems;
free from care

Sometimes you just need to let go…..

In our crazy busy world it’s difficult to be carefree – to chill, relax, and put our worries behind us…..

It’s hard, but it’s worth it.

I like to think of taking a moment to be carefree as a chance to recharge.  A chance to clear our heads…  Reset our priorities…  Regain momentum…

Bill’s and my summer trip to the beach has always been just that.  We go with nothing scheduled, no commitments, and just a general idea of things we want to do.  That, and a pile of books each.

We come home relaxed, rejuvenated, and ready to take on the world go back to the beach for another month.

This past weekend was one of those wonderfully relaxing carefree weekends as well.  We spent two days with my family and two days in Blacksburg for our opening home football game.

While in her neck of the woods, Meagan invited us to join her for a run along one of her favorite local trails.  I’ll share more about our run tomorrow, but for today, I must mention what a carefree relaxing hour or so we had after our run (without our carefree weekend) – just sitting in the shade of this beautiful old train station catching up and enjoying being together.

I think that’s one of the reasons I love running so much, because during that time on the trail I am carefree.  I can leave my worries behind and enjoy the simple pleasures that running brings.

So even if you find it difficult to relax, enjoy those simple carefree moments when they happen.  Don’t let your mind worry about other things you think you should be doing.  Be in the moment, have fun, and try to embrace being carefree!
