Today I’m joining Deborah at Confessions Of A Mother Runner and Coco at Running With Perseverance for their monthly Ultimate Coffee Date linkup! Be sure to stop by their blogs for a cup of coffee and to say hello; and while you’re there, be sure to check out some of the other bloggers who are participating in the linkup.
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that I woke up this morning and the first thing I thought of was that I needed to link up to the Ultimate Coffee Date and then I remembered that I was so busy yesterday that I didn’t have time to write it!
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that I met my Cruiser friend Jerome for lunch yesterday. He is thinking about expanding upon his current yoga business and has some great ideas swirling around in his head. I can’t wait to share them with you once it’s all finalized. I’ve mentioned Jerome’s Mats for Mindfulness before, and let’s just say he wants to take that to a whole new level!
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that my oldest son will receive his MBA from the University of Chicago next weekend when he graduates with honors. Chicago Booth is ranked the third top business school in the United States and this mama couldn’t be any more proud!
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that Bill and I had great fun at our annual Memorial Day weekend barbecue that we hosted last Sunday evening. It rained during the early afternoon, but then the rain held off for the rest of the evening. Everyone seemed to have a great time and food (much of it brought by our guests) was fantastic!
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that Bill and I try to host a happy hour with one other couple at least two Friday evenings per month. Last night we hosted two of our dearest friends and were able to help celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday just a day late. I bought portobello mushroom pizzas (large portobello mushroom topped with basil, tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese) from Wegman’s which were fantastic! In the future, I’ll make my own now that I know how simple they are to make. I also served roasted Brussels sprouts which are one of our favorite sides. For my friend’s birthday dessert, I bought an absolutely yummy strawberry shortcake!
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that on Thursday I caught such a beautiful sunrise. I’m a morning person anyway, but sunrises like this make getting up at zero-dark-thirty so worth it!
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that I completely forgot to go to a class that I was supposed to teach yesterday. I planned to introduce a new balance and stretching class in a free 45-minute demo, but got confused and didn’t think I was starting the class until June 16th. Fifteen participants showed up to find no instructor. I seriously can’t believe I did that… In all the years I’ve been training, I double booked two people one time and that’s it – I think…
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that I saw my chiropractor on Thursday. I was already starting to feel better and had run four very easy miles earlier in the day. He did some testing, and then gave me a good stretching out and working over. I’ll go into more detail in tomorrow’s weekly wrap.
- Questions:
- What’s your favorite dessert?
- Have you ever missed an important meeting or appointment?
- Are you racing today or tomorrow?
Your sunrise picture is gorgeous! I’ve never totally missed an appointment, but I’ve showed up at the wrong time.
No races for me this weekend. Getting ready for vacation, leaving Wed and cannot wait!
My favorite dessert……I usually don’t eat dessert but I’d choose something chocolate

Glad to hear you are feeling better. I have issues with that SI joint as well. I’m going to test it out as we speak.

The monthly happy hour hosting was our New Year’s resolution. We are very social, but it’s easy to not make the time we should for simple visits with our friends. Now we do!
The strawberry shortcake is as delicious as it looks!

Thank you! I think the people who showed up for the class took it pretty well. I wouldn’t blame them at all for complaining, though!
Congrats to your son! What a great accomplishment!
