After spending two weeks – well, thirteen days to be exact – at our family beach house on the Outer Banks, I decided to sort through my many pictures and share some of my favorites. Today’s post is short on words, but long in pictures! Enjoy!

Sissy, my hilarious little plant, traveled with us for fear of her hair drying up and falling out if I wasn’t with her to mist it daily…

Once on the Outer Banks, we stopped at Costal Cantina in Duck for fish tacos and margaritas…

This year we rented bicycles to ride along the beach…

Sissy enjoying her first beach sunset…

I found these painted rocks at the end of our lane in front of the first dune. I took the pink OBX one on the right…

I couldn’t wait to go on my first run of the trip along the ocean…

Best way to cool off after a run…

Sea turtles eggs were protected in a little fencing area. They were expected to hatch the weekend after we came home…

Acting goofy during the solar eclipse while wearing my special glasses…

What trip is complete without a jumpie…

I loved having Bill out cheering me on during my race…

After the race, we stopped in to check out the Wild Horse Museum and Store…

We were treated to an afternoon storm after we got home from the race…

We rode our bikes to False Cape State Park in Virginia…

I went on my long run just twelve hours after a challenging bike ride…

Not sure if this guy wanted to bite me or not, but he and his three buddies managed to get caught up in my legs and almost tripped me…

On one of the cooler days the horses decided to chill by the ocean…

Monday’s storm brought foam and angry waves to the beach…

Wild horses entertained me during my run…

I loved being surprised by this guy while I was out running…

I learned that holding a yoga pose on the beach can be challenging if a wave hits me from the side…

Waves were washing all the way up to the front dune line after the tropical storm came through…

The storm did a number on the little painted rock display…

The thing about storms is that the morning after is usually gorgeous…

We were greeted with a beautiful morning on our last day of vacation…

And there you have it, our vacation in 415 words and 25 pictures!
