Happy Father’s Day to all of the dads out there; especially to my wonderful husband and my dad!
The boys and I couldn’t have asked for a better guy! Bill is a fabulous dad and has always been there for Joseph and Daniel; AND he’s the best running husband a girl could ask for!
If you remember, we celebrated Father’s Day last Sunday since we would be driving home from the beach today. Little did we know that today’s drive would take 8.5 hours instead of the usual 6 hours. The important thing is that we got home safely and had a wonderful time while we were away! We also had plenty of quality time together while Bill drove and I talked to him napped.
Like every other little girl, I thought my dad was my knight in shining armor, and I still do. He taught me how important family is, and has always been there for me. My dad is a great practical joker and we share a very similar sense of humor. I love our time together and can’t wait to spend some time with him and Mom next month!
- Questions:
- What’s your favorite memory with your dad?
- If you are married and have children, what did you and your children do for your hubby?
My kids said, “Happy Father’s Day.” Gabe hit a bucket of balls with Glenn and they watched half of a movie together. We’re not a huge gift-giving bunch… and sometimes I wonder if that’s a bad thing.
Anyway, my favorite memory of my dad is when he surprised me for my first basketball game at NMU. I can’t fully explain how I felt when someone walked through the door of the gym and I realized it was him (I had just transferred and was playing 8+hours away). I ran off the court to hug him (I can remember it like it was yesterday).
I also remember when he met Andrew right after Andrew was born. He was fascinated with “first noises” and “first burps” and “first toots.” It sticks with me… I wish I lived closer to him!
I always sleep in the car when Justin drives. Guess we aren’t very supportive wives huh?

First memory of my Dad, I was almost 3 1/2 yrs old, he bought me MCDonalds (I believe?) and I got to slept in my parents room because my mom was in the hospital having my brother. (Don’t worry, my Dad was there for my brothers birth 🙂 ).
Aw, that’s sweet. At the time he probably had no idea how special those two things would make you feel and that he was creating memories.
BTW, Lindsey, your comment was my 1,000th one since I started my blog in February! 🙂
Yay!!! Happy to be your 1,000th comment!!! Here is to thousands more 😉 Cheers!
