For the last two months my friend/client Betty has volunteered at a local used book sale to benefit our county’s library foundation. While working she came across this book and naturally thought of me. I have absolutely no idea why! 😉 I have flipped through it and love that it is set up with a quote (from famous and not-so-famous runners, coaches, authors, philosophers…) for each day of the year, followed by a one page story that relates to the quote. You can bet that it will be on my nightstand giving me food for thought each day!
From the back cover of the book… This is so true; some of my best ideas come to me on the trail!
The book inspired me to pop over to my interest and take a look at two of my boards: “Inspirational Quotes” and “Motivational Quotes.” Here are some of my favorite running and fitness posters that I’ve pinned. Enjoy!
And now for the moment you’ve all been waiting for…
Congratulations to Cecil Vermule! The cute little Rafflecopter dude did his thing this morning and picked Cecil as the winner of my $35 Road ID e-coupon giveaway! I just sent an email to the address you used when you registered with Rafflecopter. As soon as I hear back from you, I’ll get your e-coupon number to you! Congrats!
So many inspiring quotes! Thanks for sharing. My daughters and my hubby are definitely my biggest source of inspiration!
Awww, that’s sweet! 🙂
Darn it’s not me 🙁 anyways LOVE those quotes and I need that book.. Need motivation for early AM runs in this heat!
Sorry, Emma… Maybe you’ll win my next one! 🙂
That looks like a great book! I have a book called “Daily Devotions For Die-Hard Fans: Virginia Tech Hokies.” It’s pretty awesome.
That motivational poster that says “I don’t stop when I’m tired, I stop when I’m done” is one of my favorites. Definitely a good mantra when the going gets tough during a long run.
I have not worked out yet this evening 🙂 Just 3 miles on the schedule. Barry’s sleeping right now and I’m waiting to see if he wants to run with me. If he’s not up by 8 I’m heading out without him!
My parents got that book for Bill this past Christmas!
Love all the motivational quotes!! Quotes like these is what gets me through my long runs. I am definitely going to have to buy that runner’s inspiration book. I could for sure use it.
The book is very cool, and I love that it is only one page per day so even if I’m really busy, I can find time to read it.
Yay Cecil!
Those quotes are perfect… the book sounds almost like a devotional ~ running style.
It is!
I love this. I have an “inspiration board” by my desk (right now it’s at home, but I’m moving it to work next week) and a few of them are running quotes. I will definitely have to add some of these!
Pinterest is so good for finding these! I just need to find time to get on Pinterest…
[…] So much lately on the various running e-blasts about staying motivated. I guess I’m relatively lucky in that I haven’t hit that much. I think I channel Thoreau as Deb mentioned: […]
