We thought we were going to have a pretty good Cruiser turnout this morning, but for various reasons (sick Cruiser, late Cruiser, Cruiser without Yaktrax) Bill and I were the only two that ran. I’d scheduled our run for later than usual to avoid the windchill warning, and that proved to be a pretty good idea until the last three miles when the wind kicked up again. The MRTT group that I ran with last week actually ran at 6:30 AM. Those moms are beasts!
Bill and I ran five miles west, then turned around to total ten miles. The trail conditions were great for a snow lover. It’s been so cold this week that Tuesday’s snow hasn’t had a chance to thaw and refreeze; so we ran on packed snow the whole time and felt completely safe in our Yaktrax. We saw a few other runners without them, and they seemed to be doing fine.
Scenes along the trail…
BTW, my replacement Yaktrax came just in the nick of time and fit perfectly over my trail shoes.
Before I announce the winner of the the giveaway, I want to thank Yaktrax for making it possible! You guys have been great to work with and I hope we can do it again next fall! Thanks also to Terri at Middle Age Healthy on Facebook for her comment on one of my posts that lead to the following poster!
And the winner of the Yaktrax Pros giveaway is Adriana Green! Adriana, I will be contacting you via email to get your shipping information. Congratulations!
- Questions:
- What fun things do you have planned for this weekend?
- Did anyone race this morning?
- Since I still have my bird tree up in the kitchen, who else has at least one Christmas decoration up?
Disclaimer: Even though Yaktrax supplied a free pair of Yaktrax Pros for my giveaway, all opinions in this post are my own.
Thank you Deb!! I’m so very excited!!! I love your running pictures, they are always the best!!!
Congrats, Adriana! Thanks for the picture compliment; it certainly doesn’t hurt that I have a photographer hubby. Even though most of my running pictures are taken with my little point-and-shoot camera, he has an artistic eye and has taught me a lot!
I guess I will be buying my own Yaktrax!
Yes, I have all the kids’ Santa pictures still up and some random items out. My goal is to have them all put away today but I wound up meeting with clients instead.
Only fun thing scheduled is dinner with friends.
Too bad Christmas just passed and your birthday isn’t until the spring!
I’m bummed that I’m not going to Il Fornaio again this weekend!
Yea Adriana!!! So jealous! I did 13 miles on the treadmill at 5:30 am this morning, and yes MRTT mamas are beasts and we LOVE to run before the sun comes up 🙂 Working nights, that is what’s on my plate this weekend! Have a great weekend!
Thirteen miles on the treadmill qualifies you as a beast, too! 🙂
Congrats Adriana! That’s too bad about your Cruiser run! It was crazy windy here yesterday, too. Warmer, but the wind kind of negated that. Today it’s super blustery again, with bright sunshine, but super cold temps. I think I’ll be treadmillin’ it today! 😉
On the up-side, no Cruisers = two hour date-run for Bill and me! 🙂
I have Yaktrax but I haven’t used them in awhile; I almost wiped out walking the dog this morning so I think I better dig them out! At least all the snow makes for beautiful scenery as you run.
Be careful; and find your Yaktrax!
