Today I’m joining Coco at Running With Perserverance, Deborah at Confessions Of A Mother Runner, and Lynda at Fitness Mom Wine Country for their monthly Ultimate Coffee Date linkup! Be sure to stop by their blogs for a cup of coffee and to say hello; and while you’re there, be sure to check out some of the other bloggers who are participating in the linkup.
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that college football is finally here! My beloved Hokies play Ohio State on Monday night at home, and I can’t wait! Last year we were pleasantly surprised when we beat OSU at their home stadium, so they are coming into Lane Stadium seeking revenge.
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that my friend Lesley is the race director of an upcoming Halloween race called the Ghost, Goblins, and Ghouls Spooktacular 5K. Lesley is awesome and is giving me two registrations to give away on my blog! Stay tuned next week for a detailed post with the giveaway.
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that after twelve years we just got rid of our hot tub which was no easy task. We had our handy man come cut it into a million pieces and haul it off. It had gotten to the point where it needed a lot of work and for the amount of time we spent in it, it just wasn’t worth it. We thinking of putting a hanging bench swing in our new-found deck space!
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that I have a very busy racing season coming up with three races in four weeks. On September 13th I will be running in the Parks Half Marathon with my youngest son Daniel – his first half. Then on September 19th I will be joining Erin and a few other MRTT friends and running in the Dulles Runway 10K. Our goal is to run it nice and easy, and take lots of pictures along the way. And on October 2nd and 3rd, I’ll be Runner 12 on our MRTT Ragnar DC team.
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that my Nationals are frustrating the heck out of me. Two nights this week I stayed up late watching the game only to watch them lose the lead and the game in the last couple of innings. I fell asleep at midnight and my alarm went off at 4:30…
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that I’m ready for fall running! I want to hear the crunchy leaves beneath my feet while running under a clear blue sky on a cool crisp day. How about you?

- Questions:
- What would you tell me if we were having coffee?
- Have you ever worn a costume in a race?
- Are you racing this weekend?
You just don’t know how ready I am for fall running. I’m not sure how much more I can take. We are huge college football fans. Today is THE DAY! Roll Tide. We had a hot tub taken out years ago. But then we put in a pool. We have much less space!

We are supposed to have a drop in humidity tomorrow. Can’t wait!
A costumed race sounds fun! I And my husband is so excited about football season, but I am more excited about the fall weather. Have a great weekend!

Thank you, you have a great weekend, too!
We got rid of our hot tub for the same reason. I will admit though after marathon training last winter I kind of wish we still had it!
We’ve still got a Jacuzzi tub in our master bath for post run if I need it. Sadly, I never use it either! 🙁
I am not racing until October, the Nike Women’s Half. I am so looking forward to Fall, we have been way too hot here in Northern California and we need rain so so badly. My hubby is the big college football fan, I am the NFL fan. We love football. I have never worn a costume in a race, I don’t even dress up for Halloween. Have a fabulous holiday weekend and thank you for coffee.

Hopefully this year’s El Niño will bring rain your way!
I’ve only dressed up at last fall’s Thanksgiving Day 5K. Some of my friends are so creative and dress up for most races.
Sounds like you’ve got some fun races coming up! I’m also so excited it’s football season 🙂

Even if I don’t care who’s playing, I love having football on TV in the background. To me it’s like comfort food! 😀
Fall running would be nice it’s so hot this week! We are all about the hoosiers now!

As my friend would say, “You’re Hoosier fans by tuition!”
Oh, runner 12 is a tough one! So sad to miss Ragnar this year but excited for all my friends who are doing it. Thanks for joining us for coffee!

My hubby was runner 12 last year, and I was runner 8. This year runner 12’s final leg will be about 6 miles longer than it was last year since I’ll be running to Nats Park instead of National Harbor.
OOoh, I love crunchy leaves under my feet when running in the fall. Although in CA that really doesn’t happen until December. Nice to have coffee with you today.

We’re about a month away from the crunchy leaves. I’m hoping for a nice long fall that doesn’t jump right into a cold and dreary winter. Popping over to your blog shortly to have coffee with you, too!
I have a half next weekend in Atlanta and I fear it will be hot & sweaty! Yes bring on some crunchy leaves! I would love it! You have a busy few weeks with all those races, good luck!

Thanks, Mary Beth! Good luck with your half in Atlanta next weekend!
Nice race schedule coming up! I was runner 12 for the Ragnar DC relay. That’s a good spot! It is awesome to be the runner coming in at the van exchanges because so many people are there to cheer!

My husband was Runner 12 on our Ragnar DC team last year, and I loved that he was the one that brought us home. They’ve added about six miles to the final leg this year because we’re running to Nationals Park instead of National Harbor.
I am so ready for fall running! I pulled out all of my fall decorations this weekend, and our weather finally cooled down a little just today (Monday). I’m ready to have some cooler runs!
I love the feeling of flying on that first non-high-humidity run!
