Welcome to Wednesday Word, a weekly linkup for everyone, not just health and fitness bloggers. Each Wednesday you will have a single word prompt to write about. Let your imagination run free and share with your readers your interpretation of that word, or simply use it as inspiration for your post. Today’s word is renewal….. I’d love to have you link up, and if you do, please remember to follow my six simple rules.
Renewal – to make like new;
restore to freshness, vigor, or perfection
~ Merriam-Webster
Last week I mentioned that I don’t make New Year’s resolutions, but that I do set goals at the beginning of the year, and I adjust them or update them as necessary. After assessing last year’s goals, I’ve decided to make this year’s goals much more relaxed. I’ve been lucky enough to have had some pretty awesome running years, so maybe, just maybe, it’s time to relax a little.
What better time to share those goals than on the day we’re talking about renewal. I’m wiping my slate clean, and starting anew. There’s going to be a new Deb on the trails – a more relaxed one. I’ll still train hard and push myself, but I’m going to do my best not to beat myself up if I don’t run x-number of miles in 2016 and place in my age group in races; and I’m definitely going to run some races just for fun!
During 2016 I hope to…
R – Run with the joy of a child
E – Eat a variety of colors
N – Nurture my friends’ love of running
E – Establish better sleep habits
W – Water myself plentifully (hydrate)
A – Aim to inspire
L – Laugh often
And no mater what, I want to always have fun! Who wants to join me?!

Thanks, Coco! After a month of being too loosey-goosey, I need to start focusing on next week’s word now!
Those are great goals! Yes, laughter is probably the best medicine. And I never have to worry about AG awards – the benefit of being slow! Nothing is all bad. 🙂

Thanks, Judy! I love laughing so much that my side and jaws hurt! 😀
I love your goals for 2016! It sounds like it is going to be a fun, adventurous new year. I’m excited (and intimidated, and a bit nervous 😉 ) about April and I hope we can get together for a few trail runs before that time!

Thanks, and here’s hoping it’s a great year for all of us! 😀
I’ll Join you! I’ve never been a fan of making New Year’s resolutions. They seem to set me up for failure. I do better to pursue a few ideas…that may not even occur to me until later in the year. Here’s to a year full of laughter, fun, joy and family! Happy 2016 Deb! Thanks for the link.

Same here, after Christmas…
I’ll join you too. I have no goals for 2016 except for enjoying the run.

Good for you! 🙂
Keeping it fun is what will keep you at it, that’s for sure! My goal? Stay healthy and be as active as I can!
Anne recently posted…Goals and Resolutions: Looking Forward
Exactly! I tell my clients to pick the cardio that they enjoy most, because they’ll be much more likely to stick with it if they enjoy the activity.
I could use a renewal right now 🙂 Fun and laughter is what I am looking for!

Then join me – make 2016 your year of fun and laughter!
I like your intention to laugh more. I take myself way to seriously – 99% of the time! I may have to steal that idea 🙂

The older I get, the less seriously I take myself. You’ll get there! 😉
