I’m beginning to think that I will never finish painting… I’d hoped to post pictures of my beautiful new sitting area on our deck where our hot tub used to be, but I was so busy painting this past week that it didn’t even dawn on me to take a picture. To make life crazier, just as I finished painting the privacy wall, our swing came in. I picked it up on Friday, and started painting it yesterday. Painting between all those little slats is a pain in the neck, ya’ll!
I’d hoped to get the Loudoun Half and 8K recap up by last Thursday, but that didn’t happen either. Bill is working on editing pictures from the race as I type, so hopefully the recap will be up by this Thursday.

Since I never see my friend Erin anymore (she now runs at 5 AM and I just can’t do that – 5:30 is early enough for me), we met for lunch on Wednesday. Again, no picture. What? It was so nice catching up. This coming Friday and Saturday we will have plenty of time to catch up since she’s running Ragnar Trail Richmond, too!
Wednesday afternoon I had my six-month full body check with my dermatologist. I’m always on edge just a little bit before I see him, but I’m thrilled to announce that I’m a year and a half skin cancer free!

It rained yesterday for our run, and my Cruiser/MRTT friend Kim and I ran ten miles together. We started at 7 AM with our MRTT friends in a light drizzle, and then swung back to the parking lot to meet the Cruisers at 8 AM in a light rain. The only two Cruiser friends who had shown up, had already left because it was raining too hard for them, and they left to go to the gym. One friend was planning to run/walk, so I can totally understand not wanting to walk in the rain.

I’m linking up with Holly at HoHo Runs and Tricia from MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap. Be sure to check out not only the hosts, but the other great bloggers joining in on the fun!
I have run Ragnar DC x 2 & plan to run again this year + I hope to run Ragnar Trail Appalachia this year too! They’re so much fun & such a unique event to train for. I always have a blast & then spend the next few days sleeping as much as I can to catch up!
I, too, have run Ragnar DC the last two years, and this will be my third. I ran Ragnar Trail Appalachia last year in all that crazy mud!
We are doing American Odyssey this weekend I am really excited to try something new. Have fun with Ragnar and hope we both have nice weather

Oh, have fun! Yes, to good weather for both of us!
I can’t imagine painting a swing with slats. Ugh. I try to get the hubs to do most of the painting anyway 😉 I don’t think I would want to walk in the rain either. Ragnar will be so much fun. I’m so weird with packing for a race that I’m not sure I couldn’t handle an event of that magnitude! Lists, lists, and more lists I guess! I hope the weather is great this year! Wasn’t last year a mud-fest? Thanks for linking with us Deb and good luck!

Your memory is correct – last year was a mud-fest at Ragnar Trail Appalachia. I’m hoping it won’t be so rainy in Richmond.
I have soooooooo much painting to do in my house (we haven’t repainted anything in over 5 years) but sadly just don’t enjoy it!!

I have a few rooms that could use repainting, too…
Painting is definitely a workout! For the upper body, anyway. It’s easy with spray paint!
I run/walk, and I do it in the rain. Wussies! Kidding.

I also repainted our patio furniture two weekends ago with Rustoleum spray, and still have a numb pointer finger. HaHa!
Congrats on being cancer free!! That is great news and I can imagine feeling on edge for those Dr appointments. Great week of workouts plus painting! I find home improvement projects to be so tiring so I’m impressed you still had some really solid workouts. I didn’t know Richmond had a Ragnar trail race….may have to look into that since it’s not too far from me.
This is the first year for a Ragnar Trail event in Richmond! Everything is an unknown so it makes planning a little disconcerting.
Deb that is wonderful news on your checkup! I always get nervous going to the Dr too! Great job on getting in your run in the rain and with lots of company I see. I can’t say I make it a habit I try to avoid it but that’s a lot like predicting the future, just not possible, right?!? Painting is a job, well it is for my husband as he’s a paint contractor. It is no easy task for sure. You sound like my mom she enjoys painting, me not so much, maybe why I married a painter! 🙂
A Ragnar Relay is on my bucket list, I sooo want to do one! Thanks for linking up with us each week Deb.
I wouldn’t say I really enjoy paining until it’s behind me and I can admire a job well done!
And yes, it was wonderful getting a good report from my doctor. Thank you for the good wishes!
Oh my gosh! I love painting! I painted our entire house (interior) on my own, and in ten years, I’ve even done some rooms twice. It’s getting to be about time to spruce things again, so I’ll be pulling out my brushes.
I’m so glad your appointment went well! What a relief!
I am looking at a Ragnar this year. It will take some finagling, but I think I”ll be able to get it in there.

I painted our whole house last time around (except for the two-story foyer), but I was much younger back then. 😉 Even so, I can’t say I love painting. Good for you, though!
Painting is most definitely a workout! We have worked for 4 weekends on replacing all the wood on our dock and we are finally done!!! Congrats on skin cancer free status- I have had a tough battle myself with this and those are sweet words to hear! My BRF are looking at the new Ragnar Relay train run in Tampa- I’m a tad nervous just thinking about it!

Thank you – hope you hear those words regularly, too!
Four weekends replacing wood on a dock sounds like a tremendous amount of work. Hope it’s close to being finished!
I have yet to run a Ragnar race but it is on my bucket list. And yes, I’d say painting definitely qualifies as a workout. As does any household chore! 🙂 That’s a solid week of training! I have one of Rodney Yee’s DVD’s and I love it. I don’t do it often enough really. I didn’t race this past weekend but my hubby did. He did a 70km off road bike race and improved his time from last year by 23 minutes! Totally made my day to see him that happy! 🙂
You’d love Ragnar. It’s such a fun team experience!
Congrats to your hubby! Was it a hilly race?
I don’t mind painting but I hate the prep work and hate all the clean up. You will be so happy with the result once it is over !

I’m finished and it’s gorgeous! I’ll have to post pictures when I get a chance.
Yea! See you tomorrow We are traveling up I-64 in the rain now. I sure hope you got your painting done! It sounds like such a pain! So glad to hear your skin check was clear. What a relief!

Yes, I finally finished my big painting project! I’ll have to tell you about my new-to-me corn hole set during one of our runs! You and Barry made a corn hole set, right?
