Welcome to Race Linkup, a monthly linkup opening on the last Monday of every month and staying open for four weeks. Link your race schedule so everyone can see who else will be at the next race and we can arrange meet-ups with other bloggers and our readers. You can link up your race schedule every month or only when you register for an additional race – you choose how often you want to get your schedule out there for other runners to see. I’d love to have you link up, and if you do, please remember to follow my six simple rules.
With the Grand Teton Half behind me I feel like I’m coasting into the end of the year with my race calendar. Yes, I still have several races on deck, but my big racecation is behind me. I just added the Leesburg 20K, one of my all-time favorite races, to my summer racing calendar; but most likely, I won’t be doing the full RBC Century this year.
Our good friend Chuck had ACL surgery early this spring and he really wanted to ride with us. I’d rather have our whole Cruiser team together for my first century ride so I’m postponing the full century until next year. I might; however, do one of the shorter distances to get a feel for a bike event. Stay tuned and happy healing, Chuck!
Here’s where you’ll be able to find me the rest of this year…
July 4 – Firecracker 5K – Reston, VA
August 19 – Leesburg 20K – Leesburg, VA
August 26 – RBC Century – Reston, VA (looking iffy for the full 100 miles)
November 22 – Ashburn Farm Thanksgiving Day 5K – Ashburn, VA
December 2 – Run With Santa 5K – Reston, VA
- Questions:
- Have you ever participated in a biking event?
- How far in advance do you plan your racing calendar?
- Are you running any of the races I have on my schedule?
Hope to see you at a race!
[…] I’m kind of glad the insane and overly optimistic June is behind me. Here’s what’s on tap, and linking up with Deb’s Race Linkup: […]
Run with Santa sounds fun. Just saw something about a Reindeer Dash last December that I hope comes back this year, would be fun.
Yes, a Reindeer Dash sound fun!
The only bike event I have done was part of a tri. I used a mountain bike (the only one I had). It did not go well! 🙂 I like to ride on rail trails, but the traffic on the roads makes me nervous. I’ll stick to running! After running the half in your neck of the woods, I will have to find another race down your way. It’s such a pretty area!
Road traffic freaks me out when I’m biking. 🙁
Definitely come back down for another race, and let me know when so I’ll be sure to be home that weekend.
