Welcome to what is most likely my final Race Linkup, a monthly linkup that has opened on the last Monday of every month beginning in December 2016. Link your race schedule so everyone can see who else will be at the next race and we can arrange meet-ups with other bloggers and our readers. I’d love to have you join, and if you do, please remember to follow my six simple rules.
While I’m sad to think this linkup is about to disappear – it’s gained very little traction over its almost two-year existence – it just doesn’t seem worth keeping it going. I think it would best be suited to run twice a year, in January and June; however, I’m pretty sure the lack of regularity would cause it to lose even more interest.
I didn’t want it to end abruptly without warning, and even though I have no new races to announce, I want my fellow linkers to be able to list any new races they’ve added to their fall racing calendar one last time.
Perhaps I’ll reinvent Race Linkup into something where I just announce my annual racing calendar without it being a linkup. Friends can see where I’ll be running and comment if they’ll be at the same race. Whatever I decide, I’ll be sure to let you know if there’ll be future Race Linkups scheduled for down the road…
Unless any other races pop up on my radar between now and the end of the year, here’s where you’ll find me…
November 22 – Ashburn Farm Thanksgiving Day 5K – Ashburn, VA
December 2 – Run With Santa 5K – Reston, VA
- Questions:
- Did you find Race Linkup useful?
- Do you run Thanksgiving or Christmas themed races?
- Are you running any of the races I have on my schedule?
Hope to see you at a race!
I feel sad that I wasn’t organized enough to participate in the possible last one. I think twice a year is great as there’s probably more to say/add
That’s okay, I’m still on the fence about what to do. If I can turn my InLinkz account off and on so I don’t pay on months I don’t use it, but don’t have to reinvent the wheel once or twice a year to run the linkup, that’s what I may do. Stay tuned!
I’ve heard they have a free option, not sure it would work for your needs though
It’s only $2.99 a month for the version I use, the question is whether or not I can turn it on and off without setting up everything again (which I’m too lazy to do). Honestly, I just haven’t checked into it… 😉
