It’s time to sit down once again with a beverage of your choice and chat – I’ll remind you that I don’t like coffee or tea so my drink will be hot chocolate. Let’s chat about things other than just running, cycling, training, and complaining about our most recent injuries. Sound good? I’ll go first…
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that I’m super excited to have been been selected as a Pactimo ambassador and look forward to spreading the Pactimo love over the next year! My husband has a closet full of Pactimo gear and turned me on to their gorgeous, high quality products when I started cycling with zeal a few summers ago.
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that I registered for a 5K which will be held on Saturday, April 17th and will be my first live race since Thanksgiving 2019. I am beyond excited and can’t wait to see some of my running friends at the event.
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that I had a lot of fun designing this wall collage for our basement family room. It’s been a long time coming after receiving a gift card to Board and Brush for Christmas 2019 which I didn’t get around to using prior to the pandemic. Frustrated, I just put the whole project on hold until I decided to make a paper filler to use until I’m comfortable going to the studio to make this plaque. I’m having the Virginia coordinates sign made by a young lady who has previously done several other projects for us.
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that this is the year that I do all of my renewals for my business – required biannually. My CPR, First Aid, and AED recertification is scheduled for Monday which will be live with a two person plus the instructor max. I will wrap up my CEC requirements via Zoom with the University of Virginia’s Running Medicine Conference next weekend. As an added bonus, there’s a “Lessons Learned – Everything Marathoning” Zoom meeting with Joan Benoit Samuelson and other experienced marathoners this Sunday afternoon and I can’t wait to join in on the call!
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that I just got a spam comment to my 2018 post “What Happened to My Guns? I’m a big proponent of 2A, but these aren’t the guns I was talking about. Oh spammers, you do make us laugh. LOL
And finally, if we were having coffee…..
I’d ask if you have any real or virtual races coming up, and if you do, I’d wish you good luck and remind you to have fun!

Today I’m joining Deborah at Confessions Of A Mother Runner and Coco at Running With Perseverance for their monthly Ultimate Coffee Date linkup which goes live the first Friday of every month. Be sure to stop by their blogs for a cup of coffee and to say hello; and while you’re there, be sure to check out some of the other bloggers who are participating in the linkup.
- Questions:
- • Have you created a work of art at one of those popular paining or rustic board places?
- • Do you try to stay CPR/first aid certified?
- • If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?

ooh excited to hear which race you are doing!? I was not aware of any live races around here yet. I am also not familiar with that cycling brand of gear so I will look for your photos. I am excited to get my bike outdoors as soon as this wind dies down!
I texted you with info on the race I’m doing, but it’s out in Purcellville and that would be a long haul for you for a 5K.
Let’s plan a ride this spring!
Good luck in April!
I love your collage — you did a great job.
LOL about the guns comment. Clearly the poster did not read the post!

Thanks, Judy on both! I’m very happy with how the collage turned out as well.
That’s so exciting about a real race. I have a 5 miler on March 13 and a half on April – that’s it for now.
Congrats on your new ambassadorship – that reminds me I need cycling clothes.
Love your wall – you are so creative!!
I’ve always meant to get CPR certified esp when I was teaching – but never did. It is important if you do teach a sport or train others.

Thanks, it was fun putting the wall together, especially picking out the pictures to use!
I started getting CPR and first aid certified in college and have kept it ever since. These days I have no choice because my training and coaching certifications require both to be up to date.
Oooh, Joan Benoit Samuelson is my running hero! That will be amazing!
I’m really longing to run a live race so I’ve been looking around for one that fits my schedule. So far there’s a live July 4th race but I’d like one a LITTLE sooner than that!
I love your wall collage- can you come over to my house and do one for me? ( ha ha…)
Jenny recently posted…Seize the (Fri)day!
Yes, won’t that be fun with JBS? I wish it could just be the two of us together chatting! Now that would be amazing!
I hope you’re able to find a live race soon than July. Good luck!
Your collage looks nice! I’m excited to hear more about your ambassadorship! I’m not familiar with the brand (I still consider myself a newbie with biking), but can one have too much gear? I’m seeing a lot of ads for cycling jerseys, and I’m loving it all!!!
Kimberly Hatting recently posted…Coffee Talk? Anyone?
Well, I’m sure if you click on my Pactimo link, Facebook will make sure you see plenty of their ads. LOL
Ha!!! I have to laugh at the spam you got for the post about your guns!
The family room wall looks great. I like the way you inserted the placeholders so that you could get the rest of the items in their proper places.
A Zoom meeting with Joan Benoit-Samuelson??? That is awesome! I once ran in the Allentown half marathon the same year Joan ran it. Of course, she finished about half an hour ahead of me, but still…:)
Laurie recently posted…March Coffee Talk
It’s like the two of you ran together and that makes you BRFs!
Your wall design looks so nice! I’m not signed up for any live races at this point. They’re trying to hold the Frederick Half and Baltimore 10 miler in person but I’m still not sure if they will happen. And they haven’t come up with a plan for mitigation strategies yet (or at least announced them). The spam comments can be so ridiculous!

Thanks!
This is a small race to begin with and it will be interesting to see how it’s handled. They said they’d follow all current Covid protocal, so I’m assuming we’ll start in waves, wear a mask at the start, etc.
Congratulations on your Pactimo Ambassadorship! I have a few of their things and really like them. I’m so jealous of people who are getting to run live races! I have no idea when we’ll be able to do this in California. So far my first two races of the year have been postponed, so who knows? I had to renew my CPR/AED/First Aid last October but we did it at work, live and social distanced. That worked for me since I’ve taken it so many times over the years.
Debbie recently posted…Running with Friends and Other Fit Friday Coffee Chat
Thanks, Debbie, I too love Pactimo’s gear! It will certainly be interesting to run in a live race. I’m happy that they’re limiting it to 250 people, though.
LOL on that blog comment! Very cool on Pactimo! I think my Farm to Fork Fondo jerseys are from them and I LOVE the fabric!
Love the photo layout. I want to re-do our family room walls …
Thanks, Coco!
I just did my second race since the pandemic hit, a marathon!! It was nice to see that they figured out how to make it safe to meet the 30th annual event. I used to run with this group of people when I lived in NC. I have been CPR/first aid trained on again, off again. I started as being in the know as a teacher and eventually wanted to make extra money and have access to water so I became a lifeguard…I was supposed to get renewed in Sept. but no one wanted to do it, so the American Red Cross extended my renewal date and now it is knocking at my door!! If we were drinking coffee I would tell you how happy I am to have just received the second Covid shot!!
I love that you were able to meet up with old friends to run your marathon, and at a live race!
Yay on getting your second Covid vaccination! That’s huge!
Your wall looks so great! Please stop by and help me put something together for behind my couch….lol
Those Spam comments…lol. I wish I know more about computers and tech stuff because I am always so curious who is behind the “bots” that do these. I understand they are auto generated but It has to be programed from somewhere, right? Okay, now I’m on a tangent about something I know nothing about…lol
And finally, Yay for an in person race. It’s been since October of 2019 since I’ve done one of those!
Thanks! I was headed in a totally different direction first with my wall and didn’t like it at all (I’d selected frames and things that were too large). I’m very happy with how this turned out.
Oh yeah, I have no idea how bots and all that stuff works, but they sure can be annoying. Fortunately, my spam filter catches most of the comments.
a live race!! exciting times Deb!!
I love your picture wall and I can’t wait to see the end result! I’ve never made anything like that for my walls; my dad’s a photographer and an artist and I’d say the majority of what I have here at home is from him. Ron and I talked about having something “Arnhem” related made, something with the bridge, or the paratroopers or the Ginkels Heath but we haven’t figured out what, where and how yet. We take so long to make those decisions…
I used to get spam so much (and a lot of HATE comments on a color run post I did probably a decade ago now) that from a certain year back I closed comments. Now I just get people trying to hack into my site all the time :'(
Yes, I can’t wait to run in a live race again!
Ugh, I got a notification last week that someone had tried to hack into my account 16 times and were locked out 4 times, but they were only blocked for 24 hours.
That is exciting about your race! I still have not signed up for any races but hopefully in the Fall. Crossing my fingers. Also, congrats on your ambassadorship!
Zenaida Arroyo recently posted…Fit Five Friday and March Ultimate Coffee Date
Thanks, Zenaida!
How fun to have a live race planned! I finally have one on the books for this summer and I’m really looking forward to it!
I love the way you have laid out your picture wall! Can’t wait to see the final product.
Congrats on your ambassadorship!
Thanks, Michelle! And I can’t wait to start reading everyones race recaps again!
I’ve totally let my CPR/First aid go. I need to look into options – as a race director with real races coming back, I need to have it. Thanks for the reminder.
I love that wall. We’ve lived in our house so long that I literally have zero empty spaces to decorate…
MCM Mama recently posted…A little coffee with friends
I took down another large piece of art that I’d fallen out of love with and that freed up some space. LOL
