Getting Blown About
I think Momma N is a little confused and thinks we’re already into March because this past week brought with it a healthy dose of wind. The air temperature was all over the place, but the wind was constant and a few days were downright blustery with the wind cutting right through anyone trying to enjoy the great outdoors.
Overview of the Week
Before discussing each day’s workouts, here’s an overview of my workouts from this past week. Scroll beyond the infographic for daily details…

Foam rolling: 10 minutes

I was concerned that there might be a little black ice left over from the weekend’s snow, but I had nothing but clear trails and sunshine on my run!

I didn’t have time to get on my spin bike (affiliate link) until later in the day and my legs were cooked so I cut it short at 10 miles.

• What I wore: capris and s/s shirt

I planned to cool down from my run with a walk through the neighborhood, but it was getting so blustery that I decided to walk on my treadmill (affiliate link) instead. It worked out because Bill was on the spin bike and we chatted while I walked.

It has been crazy windy the last few days.
No race until next weekend.
Favorite was my run with Jenny last Tuesday in Florida. Seems like months ago. Lol.
Oh fun, you got to run with Jenny!
It actually was really windy here for a few days- I don’t know enough about weather patterns to know if it’s related- we’re so far apart from each other!
You had some warm weather this week (in between the winter-y days.) It must have felt like spring.
Yes, one day in particular was really warm, but the wind chill made it feel pretty cold.
The wind! Say no more! As I said, Momma N keeps having these temper tantrums. I think throwing wind at us is her favorite “release,” LOL. It’s in the 50’s here today, but the wind is gusting/blowing in the 20-30mph range…what gives??? At least we have a lot of bright sunshine, so I’m going to make the best of it and do some walking after lunch.
The high winds have ruined the few warm days we’ve had…
The weather really was wacky this week. We really never know what to expect! I just keep to my schedule and figure it’s good training. Solid week of training for you! Have a good one ahead
Thanks, Deborah! And about training no matter what weather is thrown our way, we’ve might as well go with it because we have no control over the weather on race day.
I said the same thing about March today–because that’s what it feels like with all this wind! I headed out into the wind this morning and was rewarded with a nice blast that pushed me home. I’m going with good resistance training..
From what I’m reading, the wind seemed to be a factor across the entire US this past week. I like the idea that it provides resistance training during your cardio workout. LOL
It’s still winter in Minnesota, but we did have a nice sunny clear-ish path day today for a 7 mile run. It was glorious 🙂
Sounds like a great week Deb! Wind can be a challenge for sure, way to tough it out.
I can’t even imagine how late spring comes your way…
OMG the wind was insane! Especially last night, with gusts up to 40 mph. Still windy & I also thought it felt like March except with February temps.
So jealous of your clear paths! Ours take forever to be clear. Like, Summer? Only a slight exaggeration. 🙂
My runs were pretty strong this week — with yesterday’s being the strongest. Still I guess I gotta go with the birthday run!
It was so windy here that on Thursday night, I could hear it whistling around the side of the house like in a scary movie. My husband said that it even woke him up several times.
Yes, we are lucky that our paths get cleared by the HOA so children can walk on them to school.
I love that you had a great birthday run!
As always a solid week of training.
Here no wind and the expected bad weather has not arrived. The days are sunny and warm, it seems to be already in spring.
No races yet, the first will be on march 20.

It sounds delightful there. Happy spring!
No doubt, Momma N seemed very confused last week – and I think her confusion will run into this upcoming week as well. I am glad that I have easy access to my Fall clothing since I needed that for a few days last week. The wind was pretty bad a few days with some people losing power for a short period of time.
You’re correct – the first half of this week is going to be warm (with some rain), but we’re expecting colder weather and possible icy conditions by Thursday.
We have had some wind and it’s been awful 🙁
I haven’t run at all. My knee has been bugging me. Boo.
Be careful with any ice remnants. Those falls can be nasty!
It seems like it’s been very windy all across the country the past few weeks. It’s like March has come early. Now if only spring would come early, too!
That Tuesday run looks so pretty! Sorry to hear about all the wind. We get that in August and the worst part is all the dust it kicks up!

It is pretty when it snows, but now that March is just around the corner I’m ready for spring!
I wouldn’t like the wind blowing dust everywhere. Luckily, here, it’s not as windy in late summer when the ground is dryer.
