Getting Blown About

I think Momma N is a little confused and thinks we’re already into March because this past week brought with it a healthy dose of wind. The air temperature was all over the place, but the wind was constant and a few days were downright blustery with the wind cutting right through anyone trying to enjoy the great outdoors.

Overview of the Week

Before discussing each day’s workouts, here’s an overview of my workouts from this past week. Scroll beyond the infographic for daily details…

Sunday

Rest day

Monday

Strength training : 1 hour of total body

Tuesday

Running: 5K
• Average pace: 9:37
• Start time: 11:21 AM

• Weather: 32° (feels like 28°) and sunny
• What I wore: capris, s/s shirt, nylon shell, gloves, mittens, ear warmer headband, and visor

Foam rolling: 10 minutes

Stretching: 10 minutes

I was concerned that there might be a little black ice left over from the weekend’s snow, but I had nothing but clear trails and sunshine on my run!

Wednesday

Strength training : 1 hour of total body

Cycling: 10 miles
• Average speed: 17 MPH
• Bike: Life Fitness Lifecycle Spin
• Surface: N/A
• Elevation gain: N/A
• Start time: 3:26 PM
• Location: basement
• Weather: 66°
• What I wore: bike shorts and jog bra

I didn’t have time to get on my spin bike (affiliate link) until later in the day and my legs were cooked so I cut it short at 10 miles.

Thursday

Walking: 2 miles
• Average pace: 14:29
• Start time: 4:40 AM
• Location: neighborhood circle
• Weather: 66° and cloudy with rain the last quarter mile
• What I wore: capris and s/s shirt

Friday

Strength training : 1 hour of total body

Stretching: 15 minutes

Saturday

Running: 4 miles
• Average pace: 9:06
• Start time: 8:53 AM
• Location: neighborhood circle
• Weather: 32° (feels like 24°), sunny and windy
• What I wore: capris, s/s shirt, nylon shell, gloves, mittens, ear warmer headband, and visor

Walking: 1 mile
• Average pace: 14:40
• Start time: 9:57 AM
• Location: basement
• Weather: 67°
• What I wore: capris and s/s shirt

Foam rolling: 10 minutes

Stretching: 10 minutes

I planned to cool down from my run with a walk through the neighborhood, but it was getting so blustery that I decided to walk on my treadmill (affiliate link) instead. It worked out because Bill was on the spin bike and we chatted while I walked.

In case you skipped checking in on my blog this past week, here’s what you missed…

 Questions:
  • • Has it been windy where you live? ~ It has been crazy windy here.
