April True or April Fool
Happy April Fools’ Day! Just for fun, I’m sharing eight running related things about me… Seven are true and one is false. You have to figure out which one is the lie.
1. I’ve run a 50-mile ultramarathon.
2. I qualified for Boston at my first marathon.
3. I ran cross country for Virginia Tech.
4. I started running 53 years ago.
6. Three friends and I petitioned our high school principal to allow us to start a girls’ track team.
7. I can bore people for hours talking about running.
8. I have a marathon medal displayed from a race that never happened.
Which one of these eight items do you think I’m making up?
Question
- • Give me one April true and one April fool about you, and see if I can pick out which one is false.
- • What’s the best April Fools’ Day prank you’ve gotten on someone?
I’m linking up with Zenaida of The Running Teacher and Jenn from Runs with Pugs for Tuesday topics Link-Up. Be sure to check out not only the hosts’ posts, but those of the other great bloggers joining in on the fun!
Haha, I love this idea!
I’m going for number 4: my guess is that you are not running that long. Maybe 35 years?
Here are mine:
1. I ran a 100km race and didn’t even tell my husband about it.
2. I don’t count my races – I have no idea how many marathons I’ve done.
Nope, it is number 3. I didn’t run cross country in college and have always regretted not giving it a try. We didn’t have cross country at my high school so I wasn’t familiar with the sport and had no idea how much I’d love running “longer” distances. My high school started at 8th grade (I was 14 years old) and I joined the track team after my friends and I got permission to start a team and talked our PE teacher into being the coach. 🙂
I’m guessing you ran a 100K without telling your husband about it. I mean, how could anyone not have a detailed spreadsheet of all their races. 😉
Hmmm, I’m going with #1.
Myself, I have never DNF’d a race, but there have been a few DNS’s.
My longest race was 37 miles, and involved several fuel stops & shoe changes.
Nope, I ran the JFK 50-Mile Ultramarathon a month after I ran my first marathon. The correct answer is number 3. I didn’t run cross country in college and have always regretted not giving it a try.
I don’t think you’ve ever bored anyone talking about running! How could that bore anyone???
Well, while I might not bore you by talking non-stop about running, I have been known to bore other people and have even gotten kicked under the table as a hint to change the subject. 😉
The correct answer is number 3. I didn’t run cross country in college and have always regretted not giving it a try.
