Today I’m joining Deborah at Confessions Of A Mother Runner and Coco at Running With Perseverance for their monthly Ultimate Coffee Date linkup! Be sure to stop by their blogs for a cup of coffee and to say hello; and while you’re there, be sure to check out some of the other bloggers who are participating in the linkup.
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that I just signed up for my first triathlon. Now that I have a bike, I thought, “Why not!” I’m not a particularly strong swimmer so I see swim lessons and clinics in my future. I think that I could be ready by fall to participate in the Reston Tri, but an open water swim petrifies me so I decided to stick with something smaller and that has a pool swim.
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that I’ve decided to run the Marathon Majors. With Boston being the only marathon that I already have under my belt, that leaves Chicago, New York, London, Tokyo, and Berlin to complete. I really wish I’d run Chicago with my friends a couple of years ago and that I’d run New York back in the day when I could have just signed up for it without having to worry about a lottery. My plan is to train for a half marathon, run the first half of the marathon in about two hours, and then run/walk the back half. I think this training strategy is the only way I can run another marathon (or five) without further damage to my body.
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that I’m looking into getting a zumba instructor certification so I can share my love of dance with my clients.
If we were having coffee…..
I’d tell you that Bill and I are thinking about getting a dog. Since we don’t want to go through the puppy stage, we’ll probably get a full-grown rescue. Growing up I always had a dog, and they were all mutts – the best kind of dog.
If we were having coffee…..
I’d say, “April Fool!” Not a single one of the above things I shared is true! Well, maybe the Marathon Majors idea is a little realistic, but I think that’s really just a pipe dream…
If we were having coffee…..
I’d give you a big hug, apologize for teasing you so, and tell you to have a fantastic weekend!

- Questions:
- What would you tell me if we were having coffee?
- What is the best April Fool you’ve gotten on someone?
- Have you ever done a tri?
- Are you racing today or tomorrow?
You got me! Fell for it hook, line & sinker.
I am not a practical joker sorta girl.

TeeHee! Thanks, hope you have a great weekend, too!
You really had me going! I thought “Hold the phone, Deb’s doing a TRI!” (I am still excited you got a bike.) I actually think your marathon plan is a good one. After being injured a couple of times of late, I still want to do more marathons — and that sounds like a pretty good strategy to me. Enjoy your weekend!
I love that I got so many people! 😀
My rule is to never say never… I really wish I’d followed my marathon plan idea and run the Chicago Marathon while my son and dil lived there. Now that they’re moving to the NY area I could get the NYC Marathon out of the way…
Ha Ha. I did like your marathon idea. I was considering it.

Well, running the Marathon Majors is the most realistic for me out of my four “big plans.”
Hahaha! You had me the whole time!
No races for me, I’m just going to focus on getting in some good workouts this weekend (might not even be a running workout — who knows!)
HaHa! My friends who know me well, texted to say that I had them going until I mentioned Zumba. They all know that I have two left feet!
Hahaha! But they all sound like such great things Deb! I think you should definitely consider the Majors deal and maybe the dog. 🙂
I’ve never really wanted to do a triathlon due to the swimming part. I can swim, I just prefer not to along with hords of other people. However, I have done several duathlons and they are a lot of fun! Now that you have that spiffy new bike, you should look into that option.

Haha! Glad I got you!
I have thought about doing a duathlon, but I’m not sure if there are any around where I live. I’ll have to check into it.
I am far too trusting of my blogger friends LOL You totally had me 😉

HaHa! It was a risk I was willing to take in order to get a good April Fool’s joke! 😉
Ha, good April Fool’s post. You got me. LOL!
But, you should totally run the NYC Marathon, it’s so awrsome. 🙂

Thanks! I love a good April Fool’s joke! 😀
O man, I was really excited for you as all these are exciting plans. You sure do tell a convincing story Deb!
I do think you should get a dog though, hehe
HaHa – It seems like I pulled off a good one! I think my sons might not be too happy if I got a dog now after always saying no when they were little.
