Cheering on Boston
On Monday, I celebrated the 123rd Boston Marathon by wearing my 2010 Boston hoodie. I had the TV on in the background so my clients and I could keep an eye on the race, but by the time the elite runners were finishing, I’d driven to train clients at another location and they had 70’s music playing on the gym TV. I recorded the race to watch later, but have yet to find time…
Light at the End of the Tunnel
Our master bath remodel is 90% finished and we’ve moved back into the master suite (if I wasn’t with clients this past week, I was either cleaning or moving stuff back into our bedroom and bathroom). I’m hoping that the mirrors will be installed this week and the final punch list items will be addressed. The most notable punch list item is the reversal of the hot/cold pipes to the shower faucet – something that caused a major shock on that first shower!
To say that this remodel has been a stressor for me is an understatement. I consider myself a relatively calm person; however, I’ve fallen into fits of sobbing on more than one occasion as this project extended much longer than expected and left our house in chaos. I’m happy to say that things are close to back to normal and I’m hopeful that life can settle down a little moving forward.
My Favorite Picture from the Week
Bill took last week off from work to complete some projects around the house; however, on Wednesday, he treated himself to a beautiful ride along the Potomac on the Mount Vernon Trail. This is just one of many gorgeous pictures he captured, but it’s my favorite and I had to share!
Easter with our Family
Our family celebrated Easter together yesterday afternoon, and we were thrilled that in addition to both of our sons, our daughter-in-law, our son’s girlfriend, and Pablo; Bill’s sister and her husband were able to join us as well. Pablo loved his Easter basket and immediately sniffed out his treats in the plastic eggs!
Injury Update
Sooo, the earliest appointment I could get with my spine doctor to go over my MRI results is May 15th…
And Now on to a RunDown of this Past Week’s Workouts…
Running
Once again, my mileage total hit 16 for the week. All runs were solo, but at least Saturday’s was in the daylight so I could enjoy the beautiful scenery in our neighborhood!
Biking
I failed to find time for a single ride, not even a 5-miler. With our Bike NY Five Boro Bike Tour two weeks from today, I need to find time to get outside on my bike!
Strength Training
I will always do everything in my power to find time to lift, even if I have to do it at 5 AM…
Yoga
I barely found time to get in three yoga sessions, but cobra pose has become part of my daily routine right after I get up.
It’s on the Blog
In case you skipped checking in on my blog this past week, here’s what you missed…
In addition to the workouts I mentioned above, here’s a complete rundown of my workouts from this past week (completed mostly in our home gym)…
- Questions:
- If you celebrate Easter or Passover, were you able to celebrate with family?
- What are stressors for you?
- Did you race this weekend?
And that’s my run down… Have a great week!

House remodeling is always so stressful and always takes longer than they say. Glad to hear it’s almost done! Sounds like a great Easter for you and Pablo. Yay for more running pain free. Thanks for linking up

We’ve done several remodels over the years and this has been, by far, the most stressful. Perhaps it’s my age that makes me less tolerant of temporary changes. 😉
House remodels are always stressful. Ouch to that first shower with the hot/cold mix-up LOL YEs, I raced 😉 And, we had a different Easter celebration this year…our son elected to renew his baptism, so we joined him at his church (at college) and had brunch with some of his friends after the service 😉
That sounds like a wonderful Easter celebration!
I’m so sorry about the remodeling! At least the end is near but it sounds like it has been a total nightmare!!
I absolutely LOVE that picture your husband took. Stunning! I wish I had such a gorgeous place to ride or run 🙂
And Pablo. OMG he is the cutest. Hope you had a great Easter with your family!

The remodel has been a pain, but it could have been much worse. Some of the stress has been of my own doing… My main contractor was amazing so at least that was smooth sailing!
Yes, I think Pablo is the cutest, but I’m very biased. 😉
It’s always really stressful when you do any remodeling but happy to hear that it’s almost complete!
Also, Pablo is just the cutest!
Thanks, I think Pablo’s the cutest and sweetest, too!
I celebrate both holidays. it’s all about the food LOL
Hope you get answers about your back.
Love that tree pic!!
How come didn’t know you were doing the NYC 5 borough ride??? Unfortunately I’ll be in NYC this coming weekend and then in Florida the next. I have friends who have done year after year.
Enjoy!

I don’t think I’ve talked much about the NYC Five Boro bike ride other than mentioning that I “was” riding a lot during the winter. Sadly, due how busy I’ve been with dealing with the remodel during my spare time, I’ve not been riding as much these last three weeks…
What a gorgeous photo!
Re: 5 Boro Bike, I know we had a prior conversation but can’t find it in your comments or mine. I’m doing the 5K in Jersey that I sent you the link to. Have a great 5 Borough.. if we don’t connect

We’ll be with a large group of friends (staying in Linden, NJ) on Saturday and Sunday so I’m not sure if we’ll have time to do anything other than the bike event. We are hoping to see our son and daughter-in-law at some point during our stay. I suspect meeting up won’t be in the cards for this visit, but with out son living in NJ we’ll be up that way again and plenty more times!
Have fun this weekend! Hope the weather settles

I am sure that was a shock with the cold and hot water mixup!! Sorry the remodeling is stressing you out but happy it is almost over. Personally I don’t celebrate Easter. To me it is more about being with family and eating. 🙂

Luckily for me, my husband took the first shower and warned me! 😀
ugh remodeling stress! I think we have all been there at one point or another!
what a bummer you can’t get your MRI results until may 15th!!
hopefully this week is going better with riding and you’ve gotten outside on the bike now. looks like its absolutely gorgeous out! Love the photo Bill took. And the one of pablo with his basket! 😀
we dont’ celebrate either holiday, but we did have Monday off (usually the whole country shuts down from Friday until Monday over Easter) so we got a good bike ride in!
Yes, my husband and I got outside on our bikes on Monday after work, but I haven’t been back out since… It felt good to get back out there, especially since I’d hardly ridden on my new bike before winter hit. It took me a few seconds to remember how my gear levers work!
We need to do so much work–right now my priorities are replacing the carpet and reupholstering the couches. Yet I can’t bring myself to start the projects! To say I feel you is an understatement!
I’m a bad dog mom–or should I say the Easter Bunny didn’t leave anything for Cocoa. She didn’t seem to mind tho!
What Cocoa doesn’t know won’t hurt her! 😉
We didn’t celebrate Passover with family. We almost never do. We should, but I have to admit to being rather burned out going to my parents — and my mom will need some medical tests & possibly a pacemaker in June, which will require a lot more visits . . .
Getting renovations done are never fun & they always take longer than they say. Always.
My brother got a new puppy yesterday — I’m impatiently waiting on the photos!
Oh, I bet you can’t wait to meet your new puppy nephew!
