~ Runfessions ~
A collection of statements admitting
that one is guilty of a variety of running crimes…
I runfess: I have this hoodie in two colors. When I find something I like this much, I might buy a backup, especially if the item goes a sale!
I runfess: Even though I do yoga several times a week to compliment my running, I don’t really consider myself a yogi; however, I couldn’t resist picking up this shirt at Target earlier this week. BTW, the colors in the photo are really off and the shirt is closer to the color of the yoga block.
I runfess: Yesterday morning while running, I noticed a little knee pain and realized that I’ve been wearing my current Brooks Glycerin running shoes (affiliate link) since late last summer. I suspect I’ve got close to 500 miles on them so it’s time to hit up the running store!
I runfess: I still haven’t made anything from my Run Fast. Eat Slow (affiliate link) cookbook by Shalane Flanagan and Elyse Kopecky; and I’m going to keep runfessing this until I embarrass myself to the point of making something… anything!
I runfess: A few of the Cruisers and I plan to do a century ride this summer and I haven’t been on my bike since August… If my fingers freeze in mitten covered gloves when I run, I can’t imagine how cold they’d get gripping the handlebars. Of course, I have the option of riding my spin bike (affiliate link), but I haven’t been on it over a year…
I runfess: I thought of a hilarious runfession one day last week and didn’t write it down, and now I have no idea what it was, so I runfess that my memory isn’t as good as it used to be. 🙁
Ahhh yes, it feels good to get another set of runfessions off of my chest. See you next month in the runfessional.
- Questions:
- How often do you buy new running shoes? ~ Every 400-500 miles for me, but I often wait until I get a little twinge in my knee that reminds me it’s time.
- How good is your memory? Do you have to make notes constantly so you remember to do stuff? ~ Mine used to be so good, but now…
- What are your runfessions?

Today I’m linking up with Marcia at Marcia’s Healthy Slice for her monthly Runfessions linkup. Be sure to check out her blog and those of the other great bloggers linking up.

I keep a draft post for Runfessions so I can record them as they occur! Altho this past week was full of material. More to come on coffee talk.
I am so nervous about keeping a draft post because I’m afraid I’d accidentally hit “Publish” before it’s finished. I do start posts and date them in the future and work on them as I go along, but I’ve been known to forget and let unfinished posts publish. Oops!
I runfess I still haven’t made anything from RFES either. I got the book out and paged through it though…thanks for linking!
I even got some other cookbooks out and made some recipes from them this past week…
Well, at least you have the cookbook, I have not even bought it yet. I have to keep notes on post-its all the time for blog stuff. I seem to get the best ideas for stuff when I’m at work and if I don’t write it down pronto…it’ll be lost forever.
I have a folder full of blog ideas written down on little pieces of paper. I just need to pull it out once in a while and write about something other than linkup prompts. #lazyblogger
I often forget what I did on a certain day and actually go back to my IG photos to remember. Sad but true!
Oh my goodness, same here!
I love that shirt that you picked up in Target! They really do have some cute shirts and workout gear.
They do and at great prices! I also got a cute St. Paddy’s Day tee.
Oh man, I have to write things down or else I definitely forget!! I can think about doing something and then get distracted by something else and completely forget about the first thing. Then, a few days later, I’m like – DOH!
I try to replace every 400 miles. I notice it more in my feet than in my knees.
Annnnddddd……I haven’t anything out of mine yet either. *hangs head in shame* Also, it’s sitting on my table open to a recipe that I want to make and I see it every day…. *hangs head so far in shame might as well be laying down*
What is it with so many of us and that cookbook? Could it be that I’m inspired and motivated by pictures and this cookbook has so few?
I went back and looked and you might be on to something!! I love cookbooks for the pictures too and it’s hard to be motivated to try a recipe if I’m not salivating over the picture.
Bingo!
I’ll second that Runfession. I haven’t even opened that cookbook.
My memory is shot. I have to put everything on my calendar. In fact, this am, I forgot to put my contacts in and drove halfway to work. I.Am.Not.Kidding.
Oh wow! Did you turn around and drive home, or did you have a spare pair of contacts or your eye glasses in your handbag?
I drove home. Lol.
Yay!! So excited about your Century ride this summer!! Can’t wait to hear all about it! I’m pretty sure you’ll see Holly and I doing another this summer!! 🙂
The one I’m hoping to ride in is in late August so I should have plenty of time to train… I might pick your brain a little as I set up my training plan.
I do love that t-shirt! I’ve gotten on my bike a few times this winter, but nothing consistent. There will be plenty of time once is warmer for real.
Good for you! I’m hoping to start riding again soon.
[…] Thursday – Runfessions About Knee Pain, New Shirts, And Biking […]
Totally with you on buying things in multiple colors. Not at all a yogi, but I love Target (and Kohl’s) shirts. So many gems . In a shoe mess myself right now, my feet would like a unicorn. Clearly
Oh no, hope you figure out the right shoes, and quickly!
